That guy deserves the world. A man who isnt afraid to speak truth about himself and shed a tear in honesty is a real man. I wish the best for him, his family, and his restaurant. Also, what a goddamn crunch.

That place needs real good business! Come on locals get over there!

I grew up in West Hartford and never really appreciated how great the town is, and the state of Connecticut overall. People generally like to shit on Connecticut, so after moving away and realizing how much it has to offer, it makes me very happy to hear Dave talk up my hometown and recognize our pizza game like that.

That is a legendary crunch.

Dave forgets New Haven are floppier than this pizza. That looked like an easy 8.2 or 8.3.

Dang - I am actually surprised the score wasn’t bigger. That slice he pulled had ZERO flop and had an earth shattering crunch; I was sure that was going to be in the 8.5 range

Hey Dave, I live in CT but I don't own a pizzeria, HOWEVER I can GUARANTEE that I can serve you some of the best pizza off my Weber Grill! It's a style I've been doing for years and now I have my brothers doing the same. Trust me it will worth your time!

That pizza looks and sounds like perfection. The story is wonderful too. 8.1 is great but feel with both things it’s 8.5 easy.

The best thing is no matter how polarizing people think Dave is and I don’t like everything - he’s always a very kind person - and that’s what matters is how we treat people and Dave is never rude mean etc.

Feels like there are as many 8.1 as 8.2-8.9 combined. I know Davey makes the rules, but the scoring would be more enjoyable as a viewer w/ a more even distribution. That looked like an 8.3 easy.

This guy, the owner, just seems like the type of guy that I could kill an entire long flight over beers with, and not realize anytime passed. Just seems like such an easy going, nice, cool guy

The real story about the place as someone whos local: the owner used to work for Savoys just on the street behind the building, he learned to make the dough and their specialty pizzas and all that, came up with custom pizza ideas of his own, does the near exact same process, but has better custom and specialty pizzas for a better price

103 miles from me to this place, I'm absolutely making that drive. I love the Greek/NH combo, always down to try something a little different. Growing up in the north shore MA, greek pizza is everywhere and is tied to my childhood. Although I don't think Greek style is all that good, I think this hybrid will be amazing.

As someone who is from Connecticut and lived in West Hartford, I can help clarify Dave’s confusion. West Hartford is not apart of Hartford Connecticut (which is a dump by the way). It’s its own separate town that is to the west of Hartford. It’s just like West Virginia and Virginia, but for towns instead of states. There is a lot of money in West Hartford which is why Dave is so impressed. On that street he’s on, all the restaurants turn into bars/nightclubs at night since there isn’t much nightlife in Connecticut. They take all the tables and chairs and move them to the back and bring in DJs at 10 pm. That’s what everyone in West Hartford and surrounding towns looks forward to on weekends for night life.

I've watched every review since the start of covid lockdown frozen, and I'm spot on Dave's score 99 of 100 a minute before he gives it. He played 8.3 in his mind on this one, and he should have given it. He backed off like a gentleman to not get between a friendly local rivalry. Dave is the real pizza reviewer.
