The situation of celebrating with your friends and then watching barstool's reaction 20s later is great in theory, but I feel the majority of people for the majority of professional sports games watch the event alone. Therefore a (more) live reaction might give the majority a sense of being in it with barstool. I feel that was a great idea and maybe barstool should take a closer look at their audience before making the assumption the prefer the 20s delay.

Just so everyone knows, the first guy is right. The delay is automatically factored in when caching a stream with twitch, RU-vid, etc. there is a minimum 15 second delay on twitch. Obviously they don’t want that so it’s whatever, but the chick was wrong about the delays.

First guy was totally right. A stream is supposed to be LIVE. Who the hell wants to celebrate a touchdown, wait 20 seconds, and then watch someone else celebrate. The enjoyable part of the experience is that everybody is watching together and reacting at the same time.

Watching the Starsona pitch, the comments from judges made me think that they wouldn't have invested in Lyft in 2012 b/c they already knew about Uber in 2009.

I have no data to prove my point, but isn't it fair to say most people who watch content like "electric chair" or anything like that watch it because they want to feel like they're in the room with Dave or any of the other barstool employees? Again, I have no data, but how many people are watching things like this with other friends or in a group? I think content like "Electric Chair" is appealing for people who are sitting around by themself and want to feel like they're part of a group. If the stream is live, wouldn't it be more immersive and in essence be better content? I personally love the idea of a shorter stream delay and I see many others in the comment section do as well. Maybe give it another look barstool?

Body Armor man is out of his depth. Why should an investor put up cash for equity? Because the company has value. A company gifting Barstool 10% equity in exchange for a "strategic partnership" is a joke. What is Barstool giving up? Promotion? What will that look like, and for what time period? I cringe every time Body Armor man whips out "strategic partnership" angle like he's a genius because he invented a way for a company to gift Barstool equity in exchange for no cash. In this case, the last company was essentially worthless because it was pre-revenue and had not proved the concept, but it does not make BA man any less ridiculous.

Basically all the guys who have had successful pitches so far have been offered investment in the form of platform access and business development help rather than straight up funding. It's a good idea but I don't know how many of these types of partnerships Barstool can take on before it starts to backfire and be a negative burden. They still need room for paying advertisers so they can't book up all their ad space for companies they're trying to help grow in exchange for a piece of the action...plus the sort of business development support they're offering involves time that Barstool executives and employees will have to take away from actually running Barstool, which will start to add up if you've got too many of these deals floating around. Feels like it'd be pretty dumb to take on more than 2 or 3 of these partnerships at a time unless Dave plans to hire an entire new division to act as some sort of full-time startup incubator, as well as find a lot of new ways to add valuable advertising space so they can afford to be giving a bunch away to these companies that won't show a return for years.

They’re so wrong about the delay in my opinion. As someone whos new in a city that I’m not from a lot of times I’d love the pseudo social aspect of watching the game with a no delay on stream without having to go to a bar. Unpopular Opinion: I agree with them, I like the delay. If it was 100% synced you'd miss the reactions that make it great. It's nice to see it afterward, it's like reliving the moment. I look forward to it.

Look, I love the idea of the concept. But you guys NEED to slow the fuck down. I understand your goal is to play your roles, good cop bad cop - Get the pitchers to sweat - I get it.
