Bartending Basics with Rico: Simple Syrup | Absolut Drinks 

How to make Simple Syrup for cocktails! In this episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico we're making one of the single most important ingredients to keep in your home bar: Simple Syrup. In addition to this, we're also going to show you how to make flavored simple syrup with everything from vanilla pods to leftover pastry as well as 3 different uses for simple syrup in your home bar. Before you ask: yes, those 3 uses are drink recipes. Let's get into it!
Recipes:
01:40 - Simple Syrup (heat method):
1 part Water
1 part Sugar
Simmer on low heat until sugar is completely dissolved

1 half Lime
20 ml Simple Syrup
45 ml Absolut Vodka
06:49 - Simple Syrup (blender method):
1 part Water
1 part Sugar
Blend until sugar is completely dissolved
11:03 - Vanilla Flavored Simple Syrup:
1 whole Vanilla Pod
350 ml Simple Syrup
Combine ingredients in a jar and store in fridge for at least 8 hours and up to 72 depending on how strong you want the vanilla flavor to be.

1 slice Pineapple
15 ml Vanilla Flavored Simple Syrup
25 ml Passion Fruit Purée
45 ml Absolut Vanilia
Garnish with 1 half Passion Fruit
Serve with a shot of Champagne, Cava or Prosecco
14:35 - Bakery Syrup
1 Part Leftover Baked Goods
1 Part Water
1 Part Sugar
Combine water and baked goods in a jar or bowl and leave in the fridge overnight. Add sugar, and blend until all sugar granules have dissolved. Strain in a fine mesh sieve.

25 ml Bakery Syrup
45 ml Absolut Vodka
10 ml Aquafaba
