First and foremost, thank you for your craftsmanship....beautiful work sir, You are hereby applauded. Secondly, I have been working with 150 to 135 year old old growth redwood. I am recycling old homes and salvaging all the wood I can. All or mostly all is full of ancient hand forged square headed blacksmith nails. I watched you use your pneumatic nail remover on those pallet nails and just went out to buy one. I have been removing all those old nails by hand for the past ten years and didn't know such a device was even available. So thanks again for the video and your knowledge. I am now 87 years old and still working with wood and you just made my life and future easier. I for one, appreciate you.

Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.

Beautiful job ! I did something similar when I was in 8th Grade Wood Shop Class back in 1961 . My Aunt & Uncle (Mom's older sister & her husband) owned & operated a Grocery Store & my Uncle was the Butcher . I made a New Butcher's Block for my Uncle with Racks & Hooks on the sides for his knives & saws . I made it using lumber scraps that I got from Housing Construction Sites . Everything was Finished with Ultra-Spar Varnish except the Upper 12 inches of the Butcher's Block which was saturated with Virgin Olive Oil because it was to be in contact with Raw Meat .

First video I saw with a denailer gun. I've salvaged hundreds of pallets and crates and have two of them. Those things are major work savers when salvaging wood material from crates and pallets!

Nice! I did some coffee tables with that look. I cut quarter inch thick by one inch wide strips and glued them to cabinet grade plywood. It worked very well.

Sir great build thank you. Now I'm convinced, I'm going to collect a couple hundred pallets, like you, and make some kitchen counters covered in epoxy. I must also build myself a 36 inch thickness sander. My planers only do 15 inch. My wife wants some of those cattle doors on tracks. Like what's hanging in our barn.

Will you have a wood stove in your new shop? With all the wood you burn outside you could save on the cost of heating the new shop. Modern wood stoves are pretty efficient and can be hooked into a duct system to distribute the heat. I had a cousin that heated his whole house, around 1800 square feet, with a wood stove hooked into the central air ducts. He was a carpenter and burned mostly the scrap wood from his projects. I have also seen fireplaces with an insert to heat the whole house while enjoying the fire.

I am watching you from Poland and had a little "haha" moment when I saw the name of the restaurant. :) What you did is absolutely awesome, the meticulous work and attention to detail is just top tier. I love reclaimed wood and I love how you've given these pallets new life. I have to say I envy you a bit that you can just pull them off the street. I don't think it's a possibility in Poland, but after this video I will definitely give it a closer look. On a personal note - I am building my amateur/semi-professional workshop right now and you gave me inspiration for my worktops - I used some old boards I had found in my grandfather's shed to build them. The only difference is I covered them with a solid layer of hard resin. After all, they're worktops. I didn't pay as much attention to detail as you, but they turned out fantastic. I even have the same planer, so I definitely know what you meant by "pushing the limits." Thank you for this video, it is awesome and made me subscribe. So you got another fan/disciple, this time from Poland! :) Great work, keep it up!

It's worth to mention that only pallets marked as HT (heat treated) are safe to use for such projects. All other treatments could be to toxic.

I want to do a dining room table like this. The biscuit inserts gave me an idea of how to pull it off.

I run the same amazon special nail puncher, i run mine at 100-110 psi and the nails missile launch out the other side most of time, if you dont mind them being real deal projectiles, it saves the crow bar step.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE work, @TreeCycled! I'm currently working on something similar, using old maple hardwood flooring to create a large butcher-block style worktop in my garage/shop. I know you were limited by the size of the pallet boards, but would you say a certain length of each "board" works best, for the pattern you ended up with? Excluding scattered larger & shorter boards, for variety, of course. The flooring pieces I have range from as small as 14" up to almost 8' (only a few straight ones, at that length). I just want to create some good variety in the pattern, without it looking like it's one long board, with no character. Thanks again for the video - it definitely helped me realize that I'm on the right path, and will hopefully end up with a result that's almost as impressive as yours! Cheers!

I’ve been making tables and garden benches in much the same way. Only on a much smaller scale. I find that cutting my butt joints at 22.5 degrees really makes them easier to join. But again my projects are much smaller than yours. Beautiful work sir. Your attention to detail is amazing. Thanks for posting.

Interesting Project. What I find a huge risk is wearing gloves on a table saw. There are numbers of how to make push-sticks out that prevents cutting fingers or hands in a running sawblade. Most Suppliers of circular saw deliver Security Parts like riving knife ans Dustcollector from above the Running blades. I found no reason why not to use them when cutting Boards to width. No hidden Cuts or something... I can urgently recommend those security items.

Years ago I took on pallets for a project. It was far less ambitious but what I did was to forgo trying to get them apart instead I just stayed happy with the length of the slats between the studs, no nails to deal with. Next between selecting pallets and culling any split or warped boards, you can end up with some good clear stock.

This idea was also born in my head not so long ago. At the moment I have a huge amount of used pallets and thin boards in my truck. They are free! I will take them from Germany to Poland. I'm starting to cattle the house. I will use them for formwork ... then I will make furniture from them. Thank you for your inspiration and ideas!
