Basanta
Basanta is the king of seasons. Many songs are sung in the spring and spring is enjoyed. Similarly, Newars of Nepal also sing their own songs and hymns this season. Which are very popular. According to the Dafa tradition of the Newars, the beginning of spring is sung from Basanta Panchami (Saraswati Puja) to Phagu Purnima And it is customary to return singing Ghaatu after burning the Holi Chir. From that day onwards, Ghatu singing begins. In the same way, According to the custom of their places, some play till Ghoda Jatra ( Paha Charhe).
In this Basanta's video, we have included the spring songs that have been sung in Nepal Mandal since time immemorial and are now being created.
The song 'हे हे माधव वियमते नुगलया धाल (Hey Hey Madhav Viyamte Nuglaya Dhal ) which is in the first Basanta tune which is in Raga Basant and Taal Jati (7/8 beat ) is a very old song. It is not possible to say with certainty at what time it was created. And It is not possible to say with certainty at what time it was created.
After that, based on the raga Basanta Taal Cho ( 4/4 beat), which includes a very popular Basanta tune in Bhaktapur, in which the songs of many gods and goddesses are sung.
This is followed by the song ' श्याम सुन्दर बसन्तया बेलसं राधा व म्हितल वन ' ( Shyam Sundar Basantaya Belsan Radha and Mhital ban ) based on Raga Basanta Tal Cho ( 4/4 beat). This song describes the time Radha Shyam played in Vrindavan. In this song, it's described many flowers bloomed in Vrindavan, many instruments were played, many fruits were grown. It is described that Radha Shyam played happily in Vrindavan in many ways. No evidence has been found as to when and by whom this song was composed.
Then there is the song ' हादे छिके विनती खँ ल्हाय सरस्वती माजु ( Hade Chhike Binti Khan Lhay Saraswati Maju)' which is a very popular and widely sung song. In this song, mother Saraswati is called upon to attain perfection in Vidya. The main feature of this song is that another name of Saraswati Mata is also Vageswari. The mantra 'Na mo Va ge swa ra ya' has been secretly presented. The seven verses of this song begin with one by one letters of this mantra. For example, in Nepal Mandal, when education is started for small children, it is first started with 'Na mo Va ge swa ra ya'. Saraswati Vageswari is made to be the goddess of learning in order to achieve perfection in education. We have included only the first verse which starts with 'न'. In the course of the study and research of this song, in a Dafa Safu (book), in the last verse of this song, it is mentioned that the Nepalese Chhatra Pati King Ranjit Malla. That is why it must have been created during the reign of King Ranjit Malla. It is sung only according to 'Na mo Va ge swa ra ya'. But in most places this verse has not been found to be sung.
After that, the melody of the Newari popular Basanta song 'Siri Siri Fasan Jitah Kuchu Kuchu Nakala' and finally the Newari song 'Hakan Chak Hawa Re Jhangacha' have been included.
