I went to visit the beautiful Basaseachi waterfall last weekend.
The Basaseachi waterfall (occasionally written Basaseachic) is a waterfall located in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, with a height of 246 m of free fall.
The Basaseachi waterfall is located at the top of the Sierra Madre Occidental, in the municipality of Ocampo, 3 km from the town of Basaseachi and about 265 km west of the city of Chihuahua, it is connected through Federal Highway 16 and its environment constitutes the Basaseachi Waterfall National Park officially declared in the official newspaper of the federation on February 2, 1981 during the government of José López Portillo with a protected area of 498 km².
The main waterfall is formed by two streams, the Durazno rivers and the Basaseachi rivers, which join at the top of the mountain and then precipitate through the ravine, from the waterfall the stream receives the name of Candameña river, like the ravine through it, the Candameña River is one of those that form the Mayo River.
The environment of the waterfall is famous for its natural beauties, such as rock formations and pine forests. There is another waterfall within the same park of Basaseachi, called Cascada de Piedra Volada, located in the same canyon of Candameña, however, Piedra Volada pours water only in the rainy season while Basaseachi is permanent.
