I talk about base 2 sized sprites in pixel art for resizing. But I must correct myself as different people may choose different sized not on base 2. Perhaps breaking the base 2 or finding a way to make different sized sprites within base 2 constraints could be methods artist use. Other times hardware limitations could set the different odd sizes. Like they may never call for base 2 or they call for some other size. I think about how Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time used sprites specifically to take advantage of the DS hardware and not on base 2. Although a pixel is a pixel in the end. You can never have half a pixel.
