Awesome fire alarm system! That reminds me of my old elementary school in South Py Township in Sharpsville Pennsylvania. Only the mechanical horns were a solid buzzing sound like an arena scoreboard if you can picture that. The horns were the type that had two mega phone-like horns, one on either side, left and right, and the main horn unit was mounted in the middle. Next to the horn was a big large bell that, when it rang for the all-clear, if you were standing next to it, you’d jump! The pull stations were break-glass type as you pulled down to activate the fire alarm. Cool stuff! Keep the videos coming.
I have the 15/75cd version of the strobe plate in the “fire museum” with a 2901-9845 on it. There’s something about the 4903 strobe plates that gives me a soft spot for them.
I also wanted to say even though the buzzer was a solid blast, it was in cadence march time. Kids would bang with their hands at times in tune with the alarm, fooling around. I think the alarms were Faraday horns from the looks of them with my experience watching fire alarm videos now on youtube.
I’m very tech savvy, but I don’t know much about fire alarm systems. My question for the part when you said that you were putting the system in Code 3 is “Why is the one alarm still doing March time?”
