It would be nice to go more fun for this room as like a hangout spot. You guys are super in to Coca-Cola. One of those vintage-looking coke mini fridges would be awesome and a matching red vintage microwave. They make like the 50s style ones. Then maybe a big sectional because it could be big and comfy and extra bed space for guests. You could do what Cierra said and have a sort of counter table "bar" space in front of the snack bar with some retro stools or something. And then some LEDs to get the mood you're going for. I dont know how much you want to spend but a built-in bookshelf where the small built-in one is right now would be nice. Theres already holes in the wall so busting out a little more would be fine 😂

Can’t wait to see what you decide to do down there! It’s a nice cozy room for watching movies or hosting game nights. Also, I love Ciera’s sweater!

I have a modular sectional and it can be changed into a massive couch-bed, two couches, or kept as a sectional. If you’re not sure what you want that could be a good option

If you’re wanting a projector I would put it on the wall that the tv was on before… the couch in front of the window.. and bookcase or something on the wall you originally said for the projector… would flow better I think ☺️

If you’re think of putting your theatre wall on the stair wall I would consider a 80+ inch (depending on wall size)OLED tv over a projector. The lighting would be much better and you would not have to deal with shadows if someone turned on the room/stair lights. I would also use your built in white cabinet as stereo placement. You could easily setup a Sonos wireless system from there. Good luck!

I like the layout that you showed in this video! I agree with a sectional and coffee table infront of the projector, and I would put a table In front of the snack/bar area so if you wanted to host a game night or book club or something. I also like the idea of book/movie art work on the walls with cute lamps for some better lighting down there. I like the idea of the bookcase on that wall next to the bar/snack area! I also think that maybe a blue toned color will look good down there because you already have a green wall in your living room. I agree with Ciera that wallpaper would look cute down there, but I feel like paint would be easier. I like where it’s going so far and can’t wait to see it done!

for paint color: "cascades" by Sherwin Williams is a dark blue/green! I love it, I have it in my bedroom!!

You could get a modular couch and do piece by piece! Then they can typical be ganged together.

Definitely get movie/tv posters that you guys have actually watched! I’m very niche in my taste but it’s nice to look at posters and be reminded of things you love.. I think Elvis movie poster, maybe monk and something else you love would be rly nice haha

What about a work out area so if you don’t feel safe to go to a gym because of the weather then you have a home gym.

A table behind the couch to do puzzles or can be pulled out for game nights, etc.. That way you can leave the puzzle or projects out.

Could you do end tables instead of a coffee table? Just an idea to consider not sure how that would work with space

Get some cube storage ottomans. Extra storage for blankets and stuff and extra seating.

What about a breakfast bar with stools as seating? It would save room. Floating shelves for your books would help too.

i don't know much about interior designing, but the couch there might close off the room and make it seem smaller

I would get a sectional with an ottoman that can be configured many ways like a bed, l shape, u shape. Then get an ottoman cover instead of a coffee table. Put a long skinny table behind with bar stools for eating!

couch will fit, just need a beefy guy like your dad, you stand it vertical on the midway landing the rotate it to match the slant of the next part of the staircase.

Since there's a bathroom, there's plumbing, so a wet bar is possible. Poker, board games, pool/ping-pong table, lots of ideas.

I will tell you what i did. My ex girlfriend wanted a full size couch in a upstairs apartment that has a rail and a corner to go up the stairs through the door. So i lifted it up long end up and then carried it up the stairs and then did the twist turn to get it in the front door. Maybe a slight tilt because rue most height of the door. Got it in there but they will never figure out how to get it back out without taking the rail off for both upstairs apartments and the rail going up stairs. This is outside rail. You could not get it up there horizontally. So i got it up then backed up towards the other upstairs apartment door a bit to get it in. Still may not work downstairs so i wouldn't actually try. There is full size couches that come in pieces i think. Ceiling all the way down has to be high enough at all points then either the bottom or top has to turn in first to then move through and turn more. I'm not strong enough to do it again. Been ill and lost most my strength and gained more than 40 over my normal weight. I carried the couch up vertically all by myself then up a flight on stairs to get inside. Me and her haven't been together in 12 to 15 years and she never getting that out of there because i bet she doesn't remember how i got it in there without breaking anything or removing railings. I may exaggerate time ago but a long time ago anyway. By the looks you can't because the haul way itself is too narrow maybe. Get a couch that you have to put together longways like the bottom and top side separately with the fabric sitting parts able to be taken down separately because that will flex. If there is enough room for the couch to stand and be angled to fit through the hall way at all points. I can get one in there. I'm in Illinois so I can't actually help you though. Ends must be angled towards the corner and not the walls if you carry vertical the back top end or the seat bottom end. Side to side and an angle of that will never work. The corner is just too short of a distance it looks like and I'm seeing this on a camera. One side of couch facing up the other down. Too much lack of life and social interaction with people not against me in life than I'm used too. Don't have those friends that back each other up any longer. I even stopped watching tv because i lost everyone in life. I still get online to watch different amature stuff but tv watching is mostly nok existent for me. No movies shows and only read online news to keep tabs on a few different things. Maybe make comments on things i read or watch. I do have a major lack of social interaction that i didn't have before when i was able to live somewhat and have more of a life before. More positive things in life so i do watch content that's more positive online usually. Nothing else in my life.

The full size couch not fitting down the stairs sounds like a challenge.

It may be more pricey but a bookcase covering all the wall opposite the sofa with a slide-down and up projector screen in front would be my dream.

Wallpaper or accent wall by the snack bar? Then its a statement when you walk into the basement

Maybe you can open the wall up on the stairway So the basement's not a cave. And you can get furniture around the corner.

the wall that has a small shelf with the hole in the wall what's behind that wall if you can do it make the wall disappear and put a larger built in shelf unit to hold all your books and games and other things that would go up like pictures and memorabilia

I think you need to put more thought into your lighting scheme as poor lighting has an impact on activities in the room, especially as it has only 1 window. This may require an electrician to install wall or ceiling lights with more switches to adjust the lighting for what activity in the room at the time.

I know you want more females to watch your channel but i just like watching your content to listen to you two talk about stuff. I don't watch as often as i was but every once in awhile i decide to watch some of your videos. Guys watching to is the only way you reach your intended audience though.

If you go into a guy's house where women don't live the house is usually more bland. Women are the decorators but sometimes guys do decorate but just not as much. Females make the place better to be honest. Women often have more shining things and photos on walls and other art and stuff you just look at. Almost easy to know that females don't live there.
