Great content. Nice to see the wide comparison of rigs. Especially with the bronco, when everyone else is showcasing the top of the line then we see what “basic” can really do. Especially since 90% won’t even try this hard. Lol.

I would choose both those 4Runners over the bronco and wrangler. The coolest rig out of all these is def that coveted 2 door 1st gen runner. Looks so good and still killin it

One of the things you have to understand is jeepers have been working for the last 40 yrs to keep trails open and donating thousands of hours and money.
Man if you would put a solid axel under that bronco it would be amazing. I just couldn't pay 40k for something that has tires coming off the ground all the time. I know there's a market for IFS but that solid front axel would have been a game changer for a bronco package. Could have put it on the 8.8 axel like the old bronco.
I assume Dodge/Jeep must lobby the market because we don't get many options for 4x4 with solid front axles, but then I look at Australia and am blown away by all the different 4x4's that come stock with solid front axles..
It’s the street-worthiness of the Bronco that’s attracting the crowd. IFS is a challenge off road for sure but you get used to it. We had Nissan Xterra with a Dana 44 on the back and IFS leading the group for years. Definitely not as capable as wranglers all the time but nicer on the drive to and from the rides.
@@SCORCH4x4 well bro u posted a video about the bronco "taking on" beefy wranglers. What little was shown if it "taking on" anything was it with tires in the air. I'm glad it handles well ON road. But you posted and off road video. Personally I drive a wrangler and it isn't as absolutely terrible on the road as they're made out to be. I don't buy an off road vehicle because of it's on road capabilities. Just me tho. I just wanted to see the bronco come with a solid front axel option. Because unfortunately with IFS it's not taking from the jeep market right now and it isn't creating any competition for jeep. At least not last time I did Chinaman's Gulch in Colorado.

No, but close. We’ve been around for 7 years and finally had the time to launch the channel since our old lead rig died and we are twiddling our thumbs while waiting for a new one.
A fair question. The video screen is beautiful but the rest of the interior is somewhat basic. The street ride is great with IFS but we saw so many tires in the air on the trails. It’s got lots of great tech but it’s all new so it’s untested in the long run. It’s got lots of options and trim levels but actually getting your hand on the one you want takes a stroke of luck or lots of patience. Equal trade offs exist with the 4Runner and the Wrangler. It was a tough call…
So he paid $43k for a Black Diamond, with no front locker, a 2.3 4 cylinder engine, tow package , mid package at best, and no other real options? Wow, he got ripped off (and his wife works at the dealership!). I paid $47k for a 2 door OBX 2.7 advanced 4x4 with the Lux and Tow packages. $4k difference and I got a 2.7 engine, the 10 speed auto, the advanced 4x4 transfer case, and the Lux package??? BTW, the Badlands is not pushing 60k in the same configuration.
@@mpeugeot he picked up a Bronco that had been abandoned by the reservation holder. Given the current market, you should absolutely expect to pay ADM if you don't have a reservation.
Toyotas are not keeing-up with Broncos & Jeeps. These are fire trails; live near the Rubicon trail & even the “Toyota” guys here have Chevy engine swaps & solid axle conversions, which means they’re no longer Toyotas at that point - only the body & frame.
Much like the X-Terra we used to have as a lead rig, the platforms has been neglected by the manufacturer. We've saying it for years, but maybe a 6th gen 4Runner will come out soon?

No head scratching necessary. As indicated in the video, bronco owners are rarer than five legged dinosaurs and the only one that showed up had the two door stick shift. In the end it made for a very interesting comparison considering how well the bronco did. However some people may take exception to you referring to Cleghorn Ridge as “a dirt road”. That’s was no walk in the park.
Not all ecoboost are equal (and a minority of 2.7 Broncos have an issue); however, my 2011 total garbage 3.5 Ecoboost has 250k miles on it. Must be a problem.
