A huge tip for the salt rimmed glass: if you tilt while salting, only the outside will have salt. If you do that, the benefit is that the drink won't get saltier as you go, but every sip will have a consistent taste.
I highly recommend San Pellegrino Pompelo if you're going to use soda. It's bit more expensive, but the flavor is worth it. The Paloma is one of my most frequent quick drinks, and the San Pellegrino is the best soda I've found.
This is one of my favorite cocktails and one I like to order out. I like to order it at bars because it is impossible to mess it up, too many bars use ungodly sweet and sour mix or some other "margarita mix". A paloma like a mule is simple and will always taste great.

U may find interesting that Una Paloma is in Spain water with dry anis (ricard or pastis but in spain we have our own). It makes the water cloudy and everybody used to drink it all the time, especially in the fields

Little know fact about the Topo Chico water. It's is bottled in a neighborhood close to were i used to live, the company has a water outlet in the street o a side of the bottling building where you can go and take all the water you want for free. Most locals don't know about this and is more of a neighborhood thing, but theres still plenty of people that go from other places to get water there. last time i went for some water (i like to drink it with scotch or spiced rum) i had to wait like 25 mins to fill my 3 little bottle. Jarritos on the other hand is a brand that is not sold very much in here due to it being more a southern drink, the "equivalent" would be Joya (Jewel) but they don't have as many flavors and Coca-Cola/Femsa doesn't produce as much of it. The tutti fruti flavor is a killer if anyone can get a hold of it.
Someone ordered this at the bar i work at and I had to dust off the ole recipe book. The recipe the book called for was 1.25 oz of a reposado or anejo .5 oz of simple syrup muddle 6-8 fresh mint leaves in the syrup add 4 lime wedges and muddle more add 3 oz of fresh grapefruit juice shake and strain over fresh ice top with soda water g garnish with a salted rim, and a mint sprig This version was really delicious because of the smokiness from the anejo tequila we had on deck.

Mexican squirt in green glass bottle is best grapefruit soda. Add some freshly squeezed orange juice since Limas don't exist in the U.S. all of this in a cantarito (Mexican pottery mug)

I really thought the Paloma was a mezcal drink. Oh well, I make mine with mezcal and love it, enjoyed the video and glad to see the different recipes... it's a drink I love but never make because I don't buy grapefruit soda, it's too niche, and recipe #2 is great.
Sone friends went together to cacun last year, they came back with 5 bottles of tequila, and one of them also came with 2 canned "Palomas" man even though it was canned it was delicius.
As an expert in Paloma and Mexican. In this order is a perfect Paloma. Ice , salt (on top of salt) twist of lime , tequila half glass of Squirt (grapefruit soda ) and half soda water.
Never heard of la paloma but I'm going to give it a shot. I've got a bottle of blanco tequila I need to open anyway. Can you recommend any other tequila cocktails?
Great video, just a quick pointer. Anything not 100% agave is not tequila. Actually, to be called tequila must be made only from blue agave, and purists will tell you it's only blue agave and then distilled in the municipalty of Tequile in the state of Jalisco. Anyway, spirits made from other species of agave are called mezcal, as told, only spirit from blue agave can be called tequila.
