Thanks for the feedback which is always appreciated. Steve closes the angle of the hook he uses which is the ESP stiff rigger in his video. The reason is that particular pattern is quite aggresive. I have made this rig with many choddy type patterns and not all have the same degree of angle. Therefore not all need the eye angle adjusting which was the case with the pattern i used. Equally some hooks have a completely closed eye which means the direction of the knotless knot turns is irrelevant. Only partly closed eyes need to be started away from the gap as you suggest. All patterns are different and require certain tweaks but i can't cover them all i'm afraid👍.
