Currently I have 3 internal SSD drvies (o)(P)(S). I want to install NMVE drive on the motherboard large enough to hold all info but keep the three drive letters. So if I understand I will install NVME drive large enough, then create as dynamic, then creat 3 spaces using each drive letter of the old drives?
You video closed my question that I searched online for a long time with luck. Thanks! Btw, can you confirm that I won't lose existing data when doing converting from basic to dynamic ?
Hey man! Quick one, hope you can help. Let's say I have disk1 used for storage purposes only (volume G:) and the space is running out, I have disk 2 that is not allocated. Now I have merged Disk1 & Disk2 & created a Dynamic disk (Volume G is now made of disk1 & 2). What happens if one of the Disks fails? I am going to lose the volume? Thanks.
You can change a Dynamic disk to a Basic disk without data loss IF you use software like EaseUS. Dynamic disks have been deprecated from Windows and Microsoft does not recommend using them anymore. Microsoft recommends using basic disks or using the newer Storage Spaces technology when you want to pool disks together into larger volumes. The Dynamic Disks feature is no longer being developed and will be fully replaced by Storage Spaces in a future release. Also, every time you want to use a dynamic disk on a new computer, or even if you just remove and put it back in, you will have to manually import the dynamic disk.
One can change both their additonal SSD's and their HDD's to dyynamic which would increase the capacity of the disk their C dirve is on. However if the c is on an SSD it will operate the same as it does if it were on an HDD if and when an HDD is changed to dynamic. Thus defeating the purpose. Suggestion is to only change additional SSD's to dynamic and leave the HDD as is, basically only for storage.
my nvme storage after many failing tries it didn't appear on ''my pc'' so i said why not transfer it to dynamic disk and it appears in green ''healthy'' and it;'s shown on my pc is that normal?
So if you want to convert the disk with disk management you got to make sure there’s no partition on the disk which is not possible for an old disk, in this case aomei partition assistant could help it saved my disk, cheer!
For Example: (using your video) on Disk 0 How do you use the 120.00GB unallocated ? i have 465 GB and i would like to use it, and i only have a "Convert to Dynamic" option when i right click but i dont want to use any data
It's really not that bad, I'm listening to this video with the speed at 1.5x. I'm trying to watch as many video on the subject. So normal or slower speed is a no go for me.
Yea bro I’m a gamer and I have my c drive my main drive and it’s almost full and I have a drive called local disk x and it has and extra *3.63* tb and that’s a shit tone of space and nothing’s on it but I have no idea what it’s for
disks are the physical hardware. unfortunately, since physics exists we cant slam two disks together. joke aside, if you want to combine the storage space used by both disks you can create a spanned volume by converting both disks to dynamic. just know that you can't boot from dynamic disks
Sigh, I had a teacher from India once. Really nice guy, always willing to give his time to help someone understand the subject. But, he was sooo boring to me because hes tone when speaking was awfully melancholy and, I had him for two years (2nd year was a continuation class, I did not flunk). To this day I have to put effort into paying attention when someone with an Indian accent is trying to instruct me. It's like a trigger in my brain that signals it to start to think about outside.
A basic disk can be easily converted to a dynamic disk, (without any data loss) using disk-management in Windows os. But, this process can't be reverted, only solution you are left with is to use a third party application like "easeUS partition master" to convert the dynamic disk back to basic disk, without losing your data.
*Western people*, listening hard Indian accent on TV shows: HEHEHE.. It sounds funny. What an accent!😂😂 Same people, when needed to understand something worthy from an Indian guy: You need to work on your accent. No one is understanding nothing. Thumbs down👎🏻😖😠
