Hi all, in case you do not know what mean this row format. Row format is doing same as table format but for different view. This view you can see when you double click on one of the row in document in # column. This will open this column values of selected row to separate window in row format. Nearly in all tables in SAP you can view this sinle row of tables as list view.

Hi Peter, at the time I didn't know. I just did a Short on this topic. I had never used the double-click row thing before. Thanks for watching!

Haha, I like the extra little arm that pops out. Is that part of the form settings? Well done, good tips!

Haha, fun fact, my son Max went through the entire process of creating a video start-to-finish with me and edited 90% of this video (in Premiere Pro). I didn't realize you could see his arm there, I told him to hide. He's nine years old and good with computers :P

Great tips, FYI Row Format is to change the fields shown when you double click on a row number. Do you know if it’s possible to save a new default?

Oh my gosh, I did not know that was what the "Row Format" was for. I literally never use that but I'm going to experimenting putting some of the lesser used dimensions in the double-click menu. Just another thing to micro-manage that doesn't provide a lot of value. When you say "save a new default" what do you mean? The only thing you can do is copy form settings between users but this overwrites all of their form settings (default). B1UP has a Master Data Manager Form Settings which can copy form by form which is kind of a cool but to be honest I have not used it extensively.

Have you ever tried doing contact person import using excel import in B1? It seems to be an option but I'm getting strange errors when trying to get it done.

Hi Ben, for secondary sheets like addresses and contacts I would normally use the DTW so I have the most control. Have not done this client side. I will keep it as a video idea though. Thanks for watching!

What version of SAP are you running?

Hi Hunter, it's SAP Business One V10 PL20XX. But I have the B1 Usability Package Dashboards running there which might be confusing. Thanks for watching!

I have some issues with system fields and elements overlapping each other now and then. I can't just go bananas with IPT to fix it. Typical scenario is me writing an SQL report and the code window overlaps a lot of stuff in the window with a much larger font. Changing the fontsize makes everything worse and I have to reopen SAP. Other times, there are fields that do not care even if edited with IPT. Staying on top even if its bound to a pane. Any idea what can cause this? I have all authorizations inside SAP B1 but not server side.

Hello, it sounds like you're using pixel placement which is never an option. You have to do all relative positioning and you have to get the linked fields the same as the system makes them. IE if you're lazy with your references and don't swap the linked field and it's on another pane it will always show. If you don't link a field to a system field for placement then the font size changes it throws off your pixel placements. Everything you do has to be fundamentally linked to a system field. I should do a best practice video on IPT. But if you set it up properly and do your links it will move correctly and you can even resize it. I remember back when I was using pixel placement I had to maintain several layouts and link them based on the user font and size. This is not required.

@@BattleshipCobraSAP I just ended up as the "SAP guy" because I found it interesting. There is another company responsible for hosting support installation etc etc. Is this something they can do and will I be able to request it, or is it a huge makeover and we are f'ed? It's not a part of my job description and won't even be allowed to spend the amount of time it would take doing it manually...
