I I have a acer one s1002 . recently the windows clock show wrong time. It is possible that there is a clock battery to replace ? THe error happens also with external power plugged.
My Acer Aspire gave me the Bios screen every time I turned it on lately. I was going to try to find a way to get it to a recycler, when I had another idea. Put the OS on USB stick, and boot from there. So that's what I'm doing. How many others can use this to make a device last a little longer?
you are a hero! the audio cable was loose. hadn't used it for a year. Acer wanted to charge me for a possibly broken power switch and mechanics costs; turns out they didn't assemble their product as they should. thanks for your video!
I really want to thank you very much, because this happened to me (I live out the US, Venezuela actually) so thru yout video I coulded repair my Acer Aspire Swicht 10. Was the Audio cable. Now it is working fine again. Excellent video. My best regards.
Technicians don't usually use a metal prying tool because it is so hard that it can easily deform the plastic parts. Moreover, prying tools are not as big as construction tools. There are more decent plastic prying tools available in computer shops.
I have the same kind of tablet acer 2 in 1, in black. The battery went low very fast, then it won't charge, the orange led does not light up, and i cannot switch it on. I opened it up to see , same problem. I can hear a sound when pushing the power button then it stops. What to do?

Thanks a billion times!! after a little fall from a height of about 15cm / 6-7in post a rigorous security check in Beijing, I later found out when hanging in Hong Kong that my switch would not go on. Searched for a few tips on how to fix this and your video was the most accurate, informative and certainly the easiest to follow. I used a sharp kitchen knife (instead of a flat screw driver) because I did not want to leave dents along the seam or groove.It was loose exactly where you said it might be. it is now fixed :-)

I have an aspire switch 10e, the screen goes black randomly and when I hit a button or close it the screen will light back up. Any idea what could be wrong?
Thanks a lot. Your description solved the problem with our Acer Switch 10. My wife wasn't able to turn it on. So I followed your instruction and found out that we had the same problem. Instead of metal tools I used a guitar plectrum to open the housing because it doesn't damage the surface.
hi nice video. i have the same notebook as yours, but my problem is the magnet that connects the tab from the keyboard or notebook. The left side part does not connect properly. it is loose and i had to carefully open the tablet slowly so it wont fall off, and when closing, I had to press the tab so it will stick properly. the guy that I bought this at the mall said that this is normal. Is it really? it is only a month old that i bought it.

THANK YOU SO MUCH :) i have the Acer Switch 10 sw5-012-18sa, same troubles as yours (blue light on with AC adapter plugged, but not able to power the computer on), thanks to your video, i was able to find the problem and to fix 1 cable, even Acer added taps on each cable, it took less than 5 minutes to fix this amazing computer, thank you again, from FRANCE ;)

Great thanks. I had similar problem. My charger cable was broken. It often charged but sometime stopped. Tablet went out of power and I couldn't switch it on. I was moving the cable near the plug and saw the difference with power indicator light. I bought a new charger and problem wa solved. Other question: Is it possible to upgrade WLAN to 5GHz one?

Hi great video, is there a fix for an update on the bios that failed. The acer site upgrade flashed the bios and now it won't turn on at all. Can it be reflashed or brought back now it's bios is presumably dead. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi i had the same tablet:and i have the totality of my studies inside your tuto is very good it's work : my tablet was turning on and i have recovered the orange light on my power button but after 30 seconds my tablet was turned off and i haven't the light on the button . the light returned on few times but since nothing... i supposed the problem is my charger but i'm not sure =/ what do you think ? ps: sorry for my english i'm an french student xD

Hi I just had the same problem and fix it with your video so wanted to say thank you a lot ! And will go to kill the "professionnal" who told me that was the motherboard who is dead after a long day of tests LOL
Thanks for the quick tip, I appreciate if you could show where's button battery located, I can't find it, and I don't want to remove the motherboard for avoiding any issue with the wires.
I checked that ribbon cable, I do get an amber light, then blue when it's fully charged, still no boot. Tried holding down power button, disconnecting the battery, discharge and plugging it back in. Had it connected via HDMI in case it was my LCD, still nothing. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

How fucked am I if the charger broke off inside and I touched broken ends trying to get it out whilst it was on? Pajeet isn't helping. It won't turn back on. No, I have yet to see entire video. Got 6% on phone, so I will update in the morning
Well if the charger was the piece that broke off into the charging port you shouldn't be that bad I wouldn't believe. If you open the tablet and get the broken piece of the charger out you can buy a new charger and that might work. Hopefully you didn't break the pin inside the charging port.
Nothing but problems with this thing lol. I replaced the dc charge cable several times. Hardware resets. Now it won't turn on. Put a multi meter to it. Read 12v by the 4 dc prongs. And read 4v by the battery 4 prongs.
Thats sad cause when it works is a great machine. Mine shuts down afteer 15 sec on battery even though it shows 100 charge. With the adapter it never turns off, it eeven works thru a usb phone adapter
mine won't boot into windows nor into recovery mode, when I push f10 you see the blue windows logo with the text "preparing recovery please wait" but immediately after that the green Acer logo comes up and it try's to boot normal again which is not working. this end's up in a endless bootloop. I don't have the Erecovery usb stick to restore windows.

so i opened it up, and when i looked at that cable the entire blue end was disconnected from that black bar! What can i do to fix this? I just really need to get my documents off then i dont care if it dies! Please help!
OK, nvm. I fixed it. Needed to shove the blue end back into its terminal and it turned on. However, secondary problem..... the charger still will not consistently work. Is there another thing that could be wrong?
