This is an excellent Presentation , but please allow me to bring your attention to a typo and a slip of your tongue. 1st.: Your Diagram shows the Bending-Stress , left and right , same as "σ1" , whereas it should be σ1 and σ2. 2nd.: You refereed several times to "Gama" , as being the bending-stress.
Hi. Thank you for your videos. When you intridoce shear force in minute 13.00, some books assume that the sum of moments must multiply the shear force by deltax/2. Could you kindly let me know why is shear force multiplied by deltax/2?
I'm really late to the party, but I wanna ask. As far as I can see, the sigma1 formula only stays true for elastic stage of the material, so would the shear stresses formula. What'll happen if the cross-section approach the plastic stage? Will the formula change? If it does, then what is the universal way to calculate?
