You forgot to weep into your hands after every failure while slowly analyzing your priorities only to fool yourself into thinking that it'll eventually be worth it like the classic text book example of sunken ship fallacy. Other than that, 10/10 video.
Thanks for the guide. I'll have to revisit it when I get a character capable of tinkering. I recently got back into AC after seeing a video on it. I used to play when it first came out but I stopped about 2005 or so. There is a lot I do not understand because there were many features added after I stopped playing. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of guides because the game is so old. One question I have is: what would be a good build for a tinkering character? I was looking at your character and it seemed like it had two-handed spec'd and melee defense trained, plus all three magic schools. I couldn't see the attributes of course. I know strength is used for weapon tinkering and endurance for armor tinkering, so perhaps you had 100 str, end and focus? Is this how the character was leveled up or did you respec? I ask because I wouldn't mind trying two-handed, which is a skill the game did not have when I played it. I also thought of void magic or summoning, which are also new skills to me. I could see how to get a mage into a tinkerer: 100 str, focus, self and then shift self to end? I like the idea of having high str so that I can actually do weapon tinkering as I level up to help out. Also, I do not really understand salvage. I assume it's used to break down items into those salvage bags.
Welcome back to the game! I actually have a video breaking down my tinker build coming out in the next few days! Be on the look out for that. Salvage by using an ust on any loot item to break it down into its material component.
