I went thru tee for a heart defect...asd in 2d echo...tee said its a pfo and i may not need to patch it...i am 40yo and no symptoms as such apart from occasional headaches particularly in some positions...i was advised tee after 2d echo to get a better picture...i was looking on youtube to study about the tee procedure as i was worried how it would be. I went thru it and it was okay..not very painful..little discomfort but nothing u cant handle and i am someone whos quite anxious about things so if i cud go thru it with ease i think anyone can....sharing this here so maybe it helps someone else.

This procedure can cause a loss of blood pressure and lead to loss of cardiac function if the esophagus spasms and your airway closes. Incubation may be needed . Even a pediatric sized device used on a full grown adult can cause problems without incubation.

it is a relatively safe procedure, the incidence of such complication is quite low, Personally, i have not seen it till now

He needs a microphone on. Tokyo much back notice. Camera needs to pull back as he turns the wheels on the scope can't see what he is doing. Color goes dark and light. What a shame.
