Having one of the weakest powers in all Basilisk and at the same time having highest kill count (on par with freakin' immortal mind you) is telling something. Dude is legitimate badass
Well, you also have to take into account that tenzen's kill relied on everyone not knowing his power. Saemons kill happened after his skills was revealed which is very impressive. To know of the existence of a master disguiser yet didn't question the person standing in front of them, shows how convincing saemons acting is.
I love that at first impression you would think Saemon had the weakest ability compared to other characters. But he was one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in the series. Hotarubi never stood a chance once he already got in close proximity. I'd say he would've given Tenzen hell 1v1.
Jay Antonio Lanit Saemon was a coward lol he died like a coward and Hotarubi was stronger, he tricked her and took her by surprise also angered her and knew she would be too blinded by rage to think straight, as a ninja he's weak as hell.
@@SpiritualJD12887 Tenzen immortality takes time depending on the wound, if you cut his head off, hes "dead" until you reattach it. Saemon would have most likely done that and threw his head in the river
On the contrary, he recongizes himself "he" "can" be killed : "Supposedly, burning you in bright red flames or removing your head are the only ways of possibly killing you". Of course, in the final combat between Tenzen & Gennosuke, I remember he achieves to survive, even in being beheaded, but "here" he admits it's a way to kill him. Tenzen gave him his weak point. That's fair Saumon wanted to attempt his last chance before to die.
Best and most memorable death/moment in the whole fucking series. This is the most awesome thing this animr can offer. Badass characters, and no one best than Tenzen himself to dispatch Kisaragi Saemon.
@@thecountofmontecristo2796 No. Shakespearean tragedies are caused by forces outside the focal characters control and their ambition to do what's right. Greek tragedies are caused by the focal characters personal problems and shortcomings which lead to their tragedy.
Tenzen is the weakest character by far. If not for immortality he would been dead in the third episode. Simon would have cut Tenzen into tiny pieces had Tenzen not had an entire freakin' squad to back him up. Simon is a bad ass. He had a spear shoved ALL THE WAY through his body and he was still able to fight. I understand the hate on him for killing Hatarubi, but you gotta respect how tough he is in general.
SpiritualJD12887 Tenzen is very skilled and far from the weakest. His problem was the fact that he would easily drop his guard because he knows that he can not be killed in any normal way.
It's pretty much the problem with any media where any character can die. Don't get too attached to a character, they'll probably be next on the chopping block.
Saemon! You were a top tier shinobi my man. I dont blame you for killing shinobi who would have killed you with a smile on their face. You felt compassion for them despite the torture and death of your sister
I'm surprised no one commented on the fact Tenzen mentioned using an Iga ninja that had a similar ability to Saemon's to fool the Kouga. This and the flashback with Ogen(and I think there was something mentioned in Gyobu's flashback) were all pointing to the fact he was the cause of everything
1 this is only in the anime 2 the hatred is from 400 years 3 Actually Tenzin is a product from that hatred when his father a koga slaughtered his mother
@@ahmadjundi2578 1. I'm aware its anime only. The manga, anime, and movie all take the liberties with parts of the story. 2. Tenzen was absolutely the cause of preventing the hatred from ending sooner. He explicitly mentioned that Danzo and Ogen's marriage was going to resolve it so he had to act fast and he took advantage of Nobunaga's raid. All of this was because of him in the anime.
Overall i found Kouga members had more reasonable people to list a few Gennosuke,Muroga Hyoma,Kisaragi Saemon were for pro peace near end...but most of the iga were mindless warmongers...Saemon saw the pain in hotarubi and akeginu and felt sad actually...he was a good guy..not like nenki or kasumi gyobu blind rage..
True, the only one against the bloddbath in the Iga was Oboro, Kyoshiro and Akeginu are the only ones I think were good at heart, they both came to realize this too late.
What was the purpose of that thing on Tenzen's hand? Was it just to create a distraction for Saemon to look before stabbing him? I watched this scene over and over and still couldn't find the reason. Yeah, Saemon was awesome but he messed up impersonating Tenzen by letting him say emotional things. Akeginu was giving Tenzen that look but she was too swayed by her vengeance to do anything about her hunch.
It was not to distract Saemon. Tenzen was using subtle gestures to communicate with the others and get them into position. When he met Ofuku's men, he figured out that Saemon lured Akeginu away, thus figured she would be killed. In order to get rid of Saemon, he set a plan and disguised himself before going. The only thing Tenzen did to distract Saemon was getting in his face and keep talking until the spear hit.
As much as I hate Tenzen, and I cheered for his death, I was definitely much happier with Saemon's death. That fucker killed off, or helped kill off some of my favorite characters in the series.
@@SittingBull99 You are appreciated But I could only handle it once through the series, because the way Tenzen plays her after killing Saemon had me so hurt.
