Das war eine tolle Serie bei der auch ein erfahrener Drechsler den einen oder anderen Tipp mitnehmen konnte, der das Drechslerleben einfacher und/oder sicherer macht. Gratulation zur Idee und Umsetzung 👏👏👏👍👍👍 Gerne in Zukunft mehr davon.

Moin, da gibts diverse Mittel und Wege, ich kopiere aber einfach mal die englische Antwort von Simo Hope hier rein, ich hoffe das hilft, sonst einfach noch mal nachfragen. But in any case, any large logs that are new I leave long (4-6 feet) and stand up on end. Then all the water goes to the bottom after time so after about 6 months I cut from the top and use this. I cutt cracks out first about 4" then cut what I need. You can also part turn wet and leave the wall about 1" it always trys to crack from the bottom and from the center of the log so part turn, seal the bottom with sealer and leave in a hessian bag with all the shavings. It will take about 4 -6 weeks maybe to dry out enough. Or you can part turn and microwave. When you microwave, first weigh the piece. Then on full power for 30 seconds. take out, cool down then repeat. After about 10 times the weight will reduce. It will start to crack in places so use thin cryo glue if any small cracks. After about 10 - 15 the weight will be much lower. wright down the weight each time you microwave and when the weight is the same then the moisture has evaporated. There are also other methods like soaking in fairy liquid, boiling the sap out of logs in boiling water, and using stabilizing fluid like PEG but im not wrighting a book today :).
