In this bass lesson I will show you how to play "Hair" by Larry Graham.
MarloweDK did a great tutorial on this tune a few years back so between this one and that one you'll get some great stuff.
However, there's no other resource beats watching and listening to Larry Graham and getting as much as you can straight from the source.

Hey brother it's actually in coming from the acoustic bass head he's using. Same one Jaco used. Bobby Vega does a cool demo on one showing how he got the tones from it

You were close enough for me!!!! I've been playing a Bass for 45 years and I still can't play that groove. Larry's style is amazing and you're playing ability is just as good. You truly rock my brother. Hey, this is really helpful! You definitely nail the phrasing and the subtelties of the articulation, and it's a twisty groove so it's helpful to have a breakdown. If you could though, it would help if you broke the second part of each phrase away separately. Especially with the syncopation in this song it's really hard to keep track of where one bar starts and one ends, so getting the exact stroke order is kinda hard. It would help if I could keep the bars broken up cleanly between one bar and the next. Even a tab would clear this up. Either way, good stuff, I'll be playing this on Friday so I'm glad to have something to help me on Monday XD Deuces, J

I think there are a couple of particularly awesome things about your channel as I explore it. #1 You're not all ego, though clearly about business. You acknowledge the contribution of other artists and RU-vidrs but you put some excellent things in the hat yourself. #2 You've beat me to the punch at making a really nice free bass course. I thought of starting out a series with some Larry Graham tunes, but your video on top 5 bass licks to start with did it better than i would have! I might have to bump your series on my channel when it comes out, cause it's exactly the kind of thing my viewers would dig. Peace, Jonathan
