I learned that exercise on the guitar back in 1979/80. The guy that taught me was a Beetles freak & he told me John Lennons aunt taught him that warm up excersize every day.

I agree 100%. I practice scales, but "forcing" myself to keep all fingers on the frets is difficult! Will start doing this as part of my warmup every day. Thanks!

I also keep my fingers in the same position when moving to a different string. Example 1=A 2=A# 3=B 4=C keep position 2,3,and 4 while moving 1=D then 2=D# so on…. Moving only one finger at a time while keeping others in position😊.
