Morissette performed with David Foster for 6 nights in Manila last month. Bodyguard medley was amazing especially the performance on the 2nd night. It is an incredible pleasure to listen to Morissette. Our diva is rising :)

Ola Pietro, It is absolutely imperative that you give EVA CASSIDY a listen. She left us a small body of work, as many recordings as she could before she died of Cancer in November, 1996. Her renditions of "Autumn Leaves" and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," are the most beautiful I have ever heard in my 60 years as a Musician. She was also an accomplished Guitarist. The tone of her voice was like no other I've ever heard, immediately distinguishable. Her musicality, her choices and in particular at times very different phrasing are what caught my attention. I was only made aware of her a month ago and she has become one of my favorite female singers of all time. Eva Cassidy is one of the few singers that has ever touched my heart and soul. Ciao Pietro. You should watch her sing in different places (out of wish bus) so you know if she's really in tune or not but I can assure you she is. Filipinos rarely use autotune and I'm glad that's the case for us

This was an epic rendition from Mori. Fun fact tho, did you know that she was sick during this performance? She was superb enough to not make it obvious. And if you’re interested to see her perform the same song with a different arrangement with an acapella group called 3rd Avenue, you may want to check that out. It was produced during the peak of pandemic. Nonetheless, it didn’t prevent them to give us audience such an excellent performance. ❤

Notice her vocal techniques/styles corresponds to the words/lyrics as she sings. Like when she said "tired" her voice literally sounds like it, when she said "quiet" she also sounds softly, when she said "moooooove" her tone and mouth is moving, when she said "rise up" her modulation is ascending, etc etc etc

First off, as a fan of the vocal instrument, I would have to say that this performance is one of the greatest masterpieces. There is a vast difference between a classically trained vocalist and a pop or jazz singer. While the classical singer is more focused on optimal vocal techniques, a pop singer is more interested in creating an array of tonal colors. I really do appreciate your technical break downs but I feel as if you're missing the true beauty of this piece. Morissette's choices in this song have absolutely nothing to do with optimising her sound and everything to do with painting the tonal colors that she wants us to feel in this powerfully moving performance.
