What muffler would be best for a build? I'm looking for which one will get me the most gains for my build. Is the straight better than the megaphone or vis versa. I am getting the full exhaust but unsure which will get the best gains. Thanks for the help.

Lemmy's thought is that there's likely no discernible difference in power between the straight and megaphone mufflers. -DrewZilla

Being in the HVAC industry for over 30 years and designing air flow systems, if you are moving the same amount of air and increase the pipe size, your velocity will DECREASE not increase. Same principle of a garden hose. You put your thumb over the end to make a smaller opening and the water comes out faster and shoots further because of the same volume trying to come out of a smaller opening. Cant figure out how the physics of that change with this exhaust system. That being said , I hear really good thing about Bassini. Probably will get a set.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he likely meant it decreases the resistance/back pressure and allows the exhaust to flow more easily.

That is def not correct. ..what you are describing is pressure not amount released. If you increase the size of the path of travel, more can grt out... very much like a highway and cars. The more lanes the more traffic. Now, if we take away lanes we increase PRESSURE and decrease amount.. so. We do not want that back pressure, no restrictions, we want it out fast and as much as we can... so no hose theory here boss.

@@louishenschel6637 not so fast, Mr. Louis. Velocity WILL decrease, so he's party right.

With a garden hose nothing is trying to go back up the hose, with exhaust there’s a reversion wave trying to go back up the pipe because of heat and cold. The larger steps make it harder for the reversion wave to get all the way up to the valve

The revzilla videos are great, their customer service and order support/timing isn't quite as good.

Haha he said bung plug 😂 jk. I’m thinking of getting the Bassani power curve true duals. I’d love to see ya talk about them.

Kenny Price stared making car exhausts for a long time , then began making bike exhausts.. Samson..

The pipe getting larger creates more pressure and decreases velocity.

Lemmy you're WRONG. as volume increases velocity decreases.

As pipe diameter increases down stream there’s less resistance to flow allowing the gasses up stream (exiting from the cylinder) to move faster. So you’re right the exhaust may not move faster where the diameter widens but the pipe as built, should speed up the flow through the narrower section up stream.
