When I saw you fishing that pier at Isle du Bois first thing on tv, I knew you were going to catch a good one there. That is such a fishy spot! I’ve caught 2 over 8 lbs in club tournaments over the last few years I’ve fished there. One tournament we never cranked the big engine, lol! I suspect they chase crappie/gizzards that are hanging out on the brushpiles at the end, and where the actual pier starts from the rocks. This was a great quality video. I love the big bait fearlessness! You unlocked the code at Fork as well! I was pulling for you! New subcriber here. Good luck!👍
I love how you had a deck full of rods strapped down when you arrived at your first spot, then pulled a different rod out of the locker for your first presentation. Lol good strategy!!!
Good production on the video and liked the fleet on the soundtrack. Keep up the good work and keep grinding that win is coming. First one always the hardest.
Random question, I see you have forward facing sonar on your boat for this event. I’m thinking about investing in it. Have you been able to see followers with big glide on that thing? Like windy conditions, more stained water, instances where you can’t see into the water.
Will the days of the 40,000 person crowds ever come back to the Classic?? Ray sure made the sport what it was in the 90’s, but did commercialism run many fans off??
We've got to find a way to package a weigh-in better now with all the ways to see results without being there. They are really long, I get the struggle to sit through one and stay engaged. But the weigh-ins also are what the kids remember forever, the big stage and those lights and the fans cheering. Goosebumps.
The attitude of this dude is what its all about. Few get to this level in the game and even fewer are this genuine. Always rootin for ya (unless I ever get to share the water with ya lol). Impressive video and editing on top of everything else
You handled it like a champion. Don’t know if I could’ve smiled and been so friendly after that. They say a true champion is judged on his bad days not his good. Awesome job
Man if anybody deserves a blue trophy!! You have been grinding for years !! Along the way you have tought alot of people a ton of things !! You are a true gentleman and professional!! Nothing but respect !! At least from me !! God bless good luck in 2022 !!! Breakout year !!🤩🤩🤩😲😲😲🐐🐐🐐💯💯💯
What went wrong? You didn't call Jimmy Houston... THAT'S WHAT WENT WRONG... lol. For those unaware, Jimmy Houston is a fishing phenom, BassMasters Champion for decades, and his wife, Chris Houston is a multi-award-winning Ladies BassMaster Champion. For several years. Jimmy is sponsored by O'Reilly Auto Parts, and SO many other National brand names. Want more JHO (Jimmy Houston Outdoors)? 500K+ subs on fb. Jimmy is Nationally Syndicated on many sports channels around/across the US. ESPN and more, etc. ... and over 17K on his Catch of the Day (COTD) daily devotional on YT. You get a fishing tip and a short Scripture reading. Usually less than 5 minutes, plus or minus. The COTD vids are posted every morning at 5 a.m. Central/Oklahoma time. The day after Easter, Jimmy was on a road trip, 700 miles away from home. His wife suffered a brain aneurism, a stroke. Thankfully, some fam members were there at Twin Eagles Ranch. They met in high school. Childhood sweethearts. Please? He is going through some rough waters these days, and has a HUGE weight on his shoulders, caring for his childhood sweetheart, taking care of the Ranch, running off to film in other parts of the US, boat in tow, for TV shows and National appearances several states away, caring for his beautiful bride... the list goes on... and on; yet, he still keeps on keeping on, with the Lord as his anchor, a smile on his face, and an encouraging word for all. He is nothing short of a great Patriarch, and an amazing dad, husband, grandpa, business man... and my eternal brother in Christ. Talk about an amazing man??!!?? If you go to his websites, like and sub to ALL..? Tell him that Major Old Lady sent you, aka, "Mom". Hehehe... He'll know... just saying. Love you, Jimmy, more than you will ever know.
“The great mistake is to anticipate the outcome of the engagement; you ought not to be thinking of whether it ends in victory or defeat. Let nature take its course, and your tools will strike at the right moment.” -Bruce Lee
I always love it when a live camera is on your boat because you go out of your way to explain what you're doing and your enthusiasm is the best! Great sound track on this video too!
DUDE awesome! feed us more of that! behind the scenes, we know the fishing part, its the step by step. someone should should do a step by step how to for the first times for BFL or what ever BASS has for the weekend warrior from signing up on the website, paying the entry fee, going to the meeting, getting paired with your angler/co-angler discussing the next tournament day, whats a proper amount of money a co-angler should pay his boater, how to check-in at the end of your tournament time, up all the way to exiting the podium at weigh-in.
So Chris,. I always thought the fish go shallow when the water level is rising. All those flooded bushes inside, and around those islands I figured would of been loaded. 3 ft of water way back inside!! Push pole time with a jig, and a frog.. Big fish know when it's tournament day some how.. Don't they?? 😅
I was in a tournament with my brother, had a good one come off at the boat flip bounce off the second windshield and go right back in the water. We laughed so hard, no one got mad...
@@Zaldaingerous this years summer fishing definitely hasn’t stuck to the mold here in the us. It’s either way flooded out east or way down out west. It’s almost like everything you know doesn’t work this year!
Kudos to TPWD for assistance in keeping fish alive for that trek to FW. Brutal wind but that's common in North Texas. Last two Mays we have had massive rains
Dude you are so bad ass brother!!! I dont watch pros at all dont like the way fish are treated no reason fish should endure all that stress but your style of fishing is awesome Im a big baiter no conventional dont do tourneys no interest love chasing trophy size bass you are very good to watch hope you win next time Cheers!! :))
Been a fan ever since you first started on the Elites! Thanks for sharing with us, Love to see you come fish Caney Lake in Louisiana, the lake that started the "Florida craze" in our state. My two biggest from here are 10.24 and 12.8.
This dude is already doing his own you tube channel which means hes already planned his retirement. Dudes that think that far ahead are " Dangerous ". Good for you Chris...ride it dude ride it
Your the reason I started using the 6 and 8” magdraft, the look on people’s face when I roll up throwing an 8” mag on my 7’8” extra heavy is priceless!
Do aggrevating that I missed yall here this year. I live in fort worth but wasn't following bassmasters at the time when u were here. Really sucks. Won't make that mistake again. Just hope it won't be too long before the next time.
Its nice how you take time to observe and enjoy the nature around you, like the gar and butterfly. Things as those are why we fish to begin with. Respect bro!
This made my day! Great to see TZ stylin’ and profilin’ too! :) Ok.. girl question.. how in the heck to you prevent knots in your hair rippin down the lake? I’ve braided it, bunned it, twisted it.. I’m about 2 seconds from just cutting it off!!! Help! (And before anyone asks, I don’t have social media to send a private message) :) oh girls 🙄 I know.
Lol, lots of leave in conditioner and products like biosilk then a pony tail with a head band. If you can leave your hat on and hold onto it so it doesn’t fly off, that helps even more. -tz
@@Zaldaingerous I can only imagine man… I remember the rain you’re talking about. We’re still dealing with that in one of my favorite lakes. Tucked wayyyy back in the flooded inaccessible reeds right now.
Man, I saw you today 11/14/21 @ Lewisville lake. I was loading up my boat right next to you at the end of the day. I recognized you from watching your videos, I should’ve said hi. I thought you were from California for some reason though and I didn’t think you would be out here in Texas so I thought it was just someone who looked like you. But, then I saw this video and I was absolutely sure it was you! Lol. If you ever come back to Lewisville and I am there, hopefully I get a chance to meet you.
@@Zaldaingerous Just got into the preacher jigs... this seems like the next logical step in my buying tackle journey... these northern bass never see lures like this
@@Zaldaingerous I’m not a bass fisherman at all. I fish trout here in Louisiana. But if I could fish for a living I’d catch all the bass in the state lol.
When the water rises the fish push hard into the shallow cover, I usually do better offshore when the water is falling and the fish move to structure and deep cover
