I think this song is written from the point-of-view of somebody that's trying to console him/herself after a break-up. The repetition of the same line is symbolic of how it's constantly in your mind. and "nothing could be further from the truth" is just an acceptance that he/she is indeed heartbroken.

It's a generation thing, our 60's through 80's sound like shit to you possibly. It's all about open being open minded and seeing the talent. Alot of my generation does not understand the new "Noise" as our parents did not understand our rock "Noise" ;). I am one of the ones who likes it all at 55 !! Bring on da booms !!!
