i was 13 in 98 and went to woodward for two weeks. a week in i met this kid my age who skated like a pro, every day he'd come to my cabin and wake me up sayin "ben! wake up! lets go skate". that kid's name was bastien salabanzi. he taught me how to ollie over a spine and gave me his used 16 deck, i wish i still had it. i still skate and it stokes me out so much that he does too. the world has changed so much but skating is still the coolest shit ever
Vans flew him to the Ventura contest when he was 12 in 1998 to represent France at the finals of the Amateur World Championships. This part was cinematic!! Bastien’s style is something else. He charges shit with a unique energy and focus. In my opinion, he’s one of the few to make double-flips look so good

I m french,i Can tell you that on french contests in early 2000 s ,at age 15, he was put on category 18+ everytime and everytime he won,kf fs board was his go- to trick

Feel like skate heads know deep down that the period between Sorry, the Lordz vid, and Really Sorry (and the lost part stuff) is always gonna be in the pantheon of legendary 5-year spans. He absolutely killed it.
You up and coming new skaters need to stop stretching to reach the vape and start stretching to reach your toes if you want to continue on a career like this gentleman.
No one will ever make a big flip front board look better than this dude. Or a full cab flip, or crook back lip for that matter. So many of his tricks are just beyond perfect.
Part just dropped and I already watched it 4 times. Anyone who has been following this man knows his go-to tricks, but its always a damn pleasure to see them. Kyle S. did an excellent job editing it as well. This goes in the favorites instantly.

Not going to lie the full cab flip front board got me tearing up.So good to see him back and i knew he had to end it with some form of his infamous full cab flips.
@@Annnto Ahh, yeah, I totally get what you mean. Someone else on here compared him to Nyjah and how sad it is that he could have had all that he got. It's true and I totally agree but hopefully he is content in life, and appears to be doing good. But, yeah, he fell off the radar for so long.The lost part is incredible. I see he has an interview with the 9 club too. I'll need to check it out and learn more about him. I remember his part from Puzzle, a European skate video mag, from back in the day. He was fs boardsliding rails that seemed as tall as he was at the time. Even as a kid his pop was huge.
Hell yeah! It's good seeing this dude shred again. And he killed it. I was expecting an old man part. Like a part that's still cool to see but they are mostly just messing around and having fun. That's not what this was. He dropped some hammers
thanks for everything Bastien. Can't remember how many times I watched "sorry" on VHS to motivate me to achieve more in skateboarding! Pure Legends and big part of skateboarding history!
