That shit genuinely made me tear up he is literally the last of his kind so knowing another person/omnic (echo) can speak what he calls his language is comforting. Like imagine coming home to discover everyone u k ew just left and your the last person alive that can only speak a language long forgotten
I love sombra as a character, she only does evil for self gain, not cruelness, she has morals like how she protects sigma and rejects Mauga asking for her to find Baptist, and she decides to go out of her way to make bastion happy even thought she didn’t need to
i love transformers prime bee and transformers prime in general that was a amazing show and i would 100 percent rewatch again probably will on youtube also i totally see bastion as bee with the speaking
It contains the core to his original programming. The thing is, it was locked from the outside and disconnected from his new programming. Most likely cause damage sustained in years ago. If someone was to reconnect it. And give him my Wi-Fi signal. He may restart the entire war.
I think this is referenced in the Lindholm Workshop files on Bastion, where Torbjorn discovers that Bastion’s original programming for killing everybody is still there, but for some reason it’s basically being constantly ignored over and over again. He also remarks that the orders to ignore the original programming comes from the central hard drive, which Torb tries to access but can’t. Bastion, either intentionally or not, has developed free will and is seemingly keeping it protected in the most secure part of his software and hardware.
@@Satellaview1889 was bastion in any way a part of the omnic awakening? Even if he was dormant, its possible aurora gave him (limited) sentience and free will, but im no lore expert. But thats one idea i had for the locked programming.
@@coffeeking9565 That seems reasonable. Could be that due to him being closer to a non-sentient robot than an Omnic that his programming was added to rather than overwritten by the sentience that Aurora gave to the Omnic race. Does that make any sense?
By original programing you likely mean Anubis' original orders and core programing. Anubis is likely a dormant part of Bastions heavily encrypted drive. The programing to ignore Anubis' orders are likely a by product of Aurora's Omnic awakening, the Iris and all that. Essentially Bastion is constantly nagged by his original orders from Anubis, but can choose to decline carrying out those orders now. In his original short we see that he had a base level of automatic defensive programming with the woodpeaker. But only began to follow those orders after accessing another units memory, temporarily losing his recently acquired sense of self. Were it not for Ganymede flying back to him, he likely would have executed his original orders and get scrapped in the process. He would have killed many before that, but that would have been his fate if he wasn't snapped out of it be Ganymede.
As a bastion main I’m capable of translating; The first interaction, he’s sighing, then when echo comforts him you can almost hear “aww, thank you” Zarya compliments bastion, and because he’s just a silly guy he responds with “Well, uh- I… hehehe…” When Orisa recognizes Bastion as E54, he says (what I think could be translated to) “I got a paint job” Bastion says “Nooo… sorry” after he’s requested for a can opener When Sombra confronts Bastion, he distinctly says “I dunno” before going “ooooh” like a child watching fireworks when she compliments the code he has And that’s it for this short, I’ll catch you in the next one
Eventhough Bastion can understand English, Echo still choose to speak in Binary. Edit: Change She into Echo. You guys are weirdly persistent about Robot's Gender.
@@notad-class3899 If I were to voice Bastion, oh there would be some funny lines! Like asking Torb why the self-repair system was removed. And disclosing the disapproval of the configuration modes changed... I liked being a stationary machine, and I didn't like being bound to a time limit in the tank mode in the OW2 update. I'd be cussing at Doomfist, but you'd hear beeps and boops in place of cussing. Stuff like "If you hurt any innocent birds, I swear on my maker I'll *BWEEEP*-ING EVICERATE YOU!" An interaction with Reaper would be scary... "If you commit a 66 on this team, I'll remind you why 'friendly fire' isnt!" An interaction with Kiriko would be cute. "I like your fox, I have not seen such a subspecies before. Please provide information for internal bestiary records." A Genji and Mercy interaction for Bastion, if both Genji and Mercy are on the team, is singing a love song, and they both react embarrassed.
@@notad-class3899 I'd probably make up some lines. :p at Eichenwald: "I have no memory of this place, however I have acquired fragments of data from other units like me. It seems many were destroyed in the battles. Both Organic and E50-series omnics..." Hanamura: "I have always wanted to interface with the local games here! This has my compatibility firmware revving with excitement!" Volskaiya industries: "I am processing only ominous intent here... I do not feel safe..." Nepal: "I keep hearing people on the internet calling this place 'nipple', but it is 'Nepal'... Oh! I see! They are trying to be funny because of the similar words!" *Giggling beeps* Random line to Moira: "If you hurt my Ganny, you'll know what decay feels like far more intimately than you are comfortable with!" Random line with Genji and Mercy on the same team: "Mercy and Genji, perched in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes the nest, then Genji leaves the team to push a baby carrige! Mercy on maternity leave, organics doing the horizontal polka!"
I swear, it feels like someone's talking to Pyro from the TF2 comics whenever there's an interaction with Bastion. It feels so wholesome and it's like Bastion is being treated in the same way, as they both reply like children. Unlike Bastion however, Pyro is completely capable of speaking perfect english, but the gas mask that she wears prevents him from speaking it in the way that other people can understand completely. But it's always nice to see that they can both be treated like one of the Mercenaries (Pyro) or Heroes (Bastion) son. Its wholesome in more ways than one, knowing that both are treated as the children they seem to be, especially with Pyro's Father/Daughter relationship with a few of the Mercs (Engineer, Heavy, Medic), as well as his Mother/Son or Auntie/Neice relationship with Miss Pauling. (and just in case no one knows why, the reason I'm jumping between using He/Him and She/Her, as well as Son, Daughter, and Neice when referring to Pyro is because of his unknown gender, even though her frame would suggest Pyro's a male, the Team Fortress Classic Pyro was a lady, and both her frame and voice in game were suggested to be a male as well.)
@@Shikaschima yeah RU-vid has had a thing about moving or removing my comments this comment specifically was supposed to be on a video about the Digimon 2020 reboot being dubbed I had no idea it was dubbed so I was surprised. Thank you for bringing this to my attention I only watch Overwatch 2 interaction videos I don’t comment on them and if I do it’s rare
@@Shikaschima my original thought was oh they just deleted my comment like they do my replies but thanks to you I found out no they just moved it to something that had nothing to do with what the comment was for
For those of you who don't know what The encrypted files are That would be his original programming The thing that separates E54 from bastion Think of it like a kakarot versus Goku They both have the same body but they are very different people
What I could try to make out: Echo: vvvt vvvvt, vvvt Bastion: Awwww, thank you - Zarya: uhhh processing..whatever Bastion: Who? ME? Aww ha ha ha - Cass: Im aiming to crack open a snack Bastion: Uhhh, nuh-uh, sorry - Sombra: "You should be proud" Bastion: I Aaaammmm"
I have a feeing Bastion was telling Echo about the Eichenwalde situation. It’s the only time Bastion killed someone, so I assume he has some sort of PTSD or guilt. It sounded like Echo told him it’s not his fault
Hmmm bastion encryption data bank bring a good question... Should get lore of his creator origin and stuff and maybe get new hero better then bastion hinself . Not like orisa but maybe new new
i like to think when orisa says she barley recognizes bastion she meant that the last time she met bastion was when he was passing by leading a army to eichenwalde and he looked and acted completely different not that because he was forced to but because he could i also like to think in the animatic short he was like i dont remember what happened at all but bird then he gets his memories back and he was like oh hell nah then he saw bird and was like i could start a new life this is dumb but im keeping this not because i belived that happened at all but because i can
Maybe brute forcing it, getting beans (or whatever he's eating) all over your mechanical hand and caught between the joints, sure. Think the point is NOT getting his mechanical hand messy lol
Sombra is good hearted. She just has grown up in bad situations. Kinda like how characters like Aladdin steal because they come from the slums, but can care about people’s well being.
People tend to forget that Sombra is an Anti-Hero more than a villain. She works for Talon because it's convenient for her, but I can definitely imagine her switching sides on a dime if it turns out Overwatch could A, definitely come out on top, B, help Sigma (whom she seems to genuinely care for), C, pardon her of her current crimes, and D, aid her in her goals to uncover the truth behind the entity she encountered.
