No man, the early gbb was in 2006, this is the third litter. Codfish pulling routines, giving structure to the empty battle beatbox game.. He changed the game, his techniques forced the entire group of beatboxers to look for new styles, modify their own and give them meanings and patterns. Only a few technical beatboxers remained, and if it weren't for the quarantine break, it would have evolved greatly. The arrival of the 4th generation with Tomazacre leading the way was crazy. Now everything has de-evolved a little in the beatbox scene

To be fair even if Bataco didn’t get in Codfish’s face, and challenge him to battle (and codfish just carried on with a musical routine) he May have stood a chance at winning. But the fact he was all in Codfish’s face firing him up sent him Super Saiyan and destroyed him. Sometimes need to be careful what you wish for!

i always thought that the "no " from codfish was in relation to bataco holding up two fingers which was referencing " your only using two techniques in a bar " or itd be like saying " boots n cats bro! .. simple !" so codfish saying "no" and then adding batacos lazer he slapped him back . he was doing 4 sounds anyway

(is rare to coment) This is a war its been in the beatbox for a long time that is musicality vs technicalities codfish for many is nothing special but he's very musical he brings compositions with porpuse he did it and in the end he kills with a complex technique. Codfish represents music with soul mutch more complet than so many that don't understand real music. This is the reason why the video have so many views.

You might have missed the point here that this video was a SHOWCASE battle and not a battle battle. You can see Codfish highlighting that when Bataco calls him out in the second round. The point is that was a SHOWCASE battle.

Codfish set him up ... simple plan ... let him spit his best content ... then counter it ... then do it better ... typical Godfish ... 😏

My thoughts to the first round of codfish did a showcase was like him saying "nah you ain't a challenge" then the next round bataco was like "this is a battle" and when codfishes round came showed him why he didn't even try battling in the first round

Might be off here, but I'm pretty sure Bataco holding up the 2 fingers means he thought Codfish was only using 2 sounds in his routine. Hence why Codfish said "no" and fired the laser back lol. To signify a repeat of a routine, I believe you would tap your forearms against each other, fx Elisii vs Maddox @5:43

I don't think Codfish was showcasing or holding back in his first round - I think he was saying "you're gonna have to do better than that".

This battle being the 2nd biggest viewed is strange to me. I get the counter and strong finish by codfish all but there’s the drag out moments and mid quality of Bataco combined with codfish doing 90 percent showcase just doesn’t do it for me. I get the catchiness of codfish and popular title like no digging really grabbed the views. Swissbeatbox has a lot more actual amazing beatbox clips.
