A weird (but important) question: do you prefer your bathroom fan to make a noise when you turn it on?

I'd prefer as close to silence as possible. I've put up with noisy 'fart fans' for years as a result of living in cheap apartments, and the first house I get I will make sure that it either has a silent fan or will be able to have one easily installed. EDIT: I'm more referring to the motor noise; the white noise the air makes when being evacuated is fine.

Silent of course. I'm sick of noisy bathroom fans. I cant hear almost anything if not anything when it's noisy lol

The solution there would be a smart speaker and home automation that detects if the shower is running. If the fan is on but the shower is off, the speaker plays fan noises. If the shower is running, the fan runs silent and the speaker plays whatever you want.

It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it works very well. ru-vid.comUgkxGjG43--gYqIoT4Xkur2PqCrtbKwTv2h6 There are three options to circulate air, and best of all a remote control for us lazy people. Installation was a breeze (no pun intended). It actually took longer to open the box then it did putting the side extenders on and sitting it in the window opening. It's a perfect alternative when you want airflow, but not the AC. Just might order another one for a different room. UPDATE: Bought another one like I said. They work great. Why not have two...

Pretty sure that exhaust fans don't cause a hard vacuum, so they also bring fresh air into your house through gaps, furnace fresh air intakes, dryer ducts, etc. by creating a negative pressure differential relative to the outside.

Hello, Planing to add a fan to a bathroom with a window on the top level of my townhouse. Was wondering, how to "piggyback" on the existing ductwork. Do not wanna punch another hole in the roof. Any suggestions?

Omg he said it would cost around $500 to get the exhaust fan installed but i just got a quote for $700 from an electrician and that didnt even include cutting a hole in the roof to ventilate the fan. Definitely gonna get more quotes

My bathroom ceiling is open, so while I am there, I want to change my bathroom fan for a new one, but I have a 3" diameter exhaust pipe, I’m considering changing it for a 4" pipe, which seems to be the standard now, I noticed that the new fans are made mostly for 4" exhaust, but some comes with adapters to fit 3" exhaust pipe. Is it worth the trouble changing for 4" exhaust ? would it be more efficient ?

Why would you want to switch the CFM to 80 instead of 100CFMs? Is it true that if your mirror fogs up when you take a shower that the fan isn't powerful enough? We are going to have a shower that has a rainfall head in the ceiling and a wall mounted head each with their own water lines so it will be using double the water-does that mean I will need a higher CFM to account for the extra moisture? Lastly if we mount the exhaust fan inside the shower will it make it too breezy? Because it will not have a shower door so it is pretty open as is-which I'm also afraid may make us cold even though they say it doesn't which I don't understand because if you open the shower door on a normal shower it gets cold. I dunno.

I occasionally dry laundry in my bathroom, but then when my mum visits she scolds me for leaving the fan on, saying I’m letting out all the AC and indirectly pulling hot air into the house. Do bathroom fans waste the AC air?

I know this is an old video but i have a question: I'm going to be having my bathroom remodeled and the floor plan will be bigger (will be 12x6x8). The math is just under 75 CFM. Do i go with an 80 or do I go bigger? Im installing a shower, vanity and toilet as well

Can it bring some smells from outside in? Like do they bring in a little bit in when the flap is open ? I've can smell stuff from outside sometimes when it's on. It vents outside I think to the roof
