yup, cheapest form of kontiki kiln out there beyond just digging a pit, charcoal forms in the absence of oxygen though even just in a normal fire, the charcoal is where the ash or additional material starves the prior material from the air, the kilns like this just work more efficiently to do so because of the sides make stuff pile up more easily. #biochar #permaculture #terrapretta
