WWE Legend turned Hollywood Superstar Dave Bautista names the acting performance that made him realize he wanted to improve as an actor #wwe #wrestling #batista
Hands down, Dave Bautista is the best wrestler turned actor. Sure he wasn't perfect in the beginning but over the years he's gotten better. It's not because if his role in the Marvel universe (Drax) but because he doesn't play the typical action-leading role. Since he's also done comedy, thriller, scifi, and dramatic roles. All while also playing any recurring or 2nd character, not the typical leading role like John Cena or the Rock. Sure Dave doesn't have a bug resume of films but he has managed to work well with successful directors that are well known in Hollywood.
My favourite role of Dave Batista was his role in Blade Runner. His role was so short yet so impactful. It set a tone for the movie's story and the protagonist's character development journey.
Nah. There has been betters around. Like the Swamp thing, Doom Patrol and Superman and Lois. That last one is peak. Smallville..even if I was a fan as a kid...was pretty mid.
I remember my dad renting Wrong Side of Town when i was younger and i didn't remember the name for a long time and referred it as "The movie with Batista and RVD"
Dave has the best part in the whole movie. Ja Rule gets in his face, and Dave responds with a point-blank gunshot to the head, then proceeds to talk shit to his dead corpse lol
I remember him and Kane was on episode of Smallville they both played Phantom Zone villains plus I figured I had nothing to do with him being a Superman fanboy I figured it had more to do with Smackdown airing on the CW at the time in Smallville was on the WB on Tuesdays and SmackDown was on UPN on Thursdays
I remember seeing Dave Bautista on another show called Chuck several years ago. Maybe late 2000s or early 2010s? It was just for one episode though. He has evolved a lot since then.
Hulk started the wrestler turned actor phase, but Dave and John knocked it out the park. Dwayne, is okay, but every film he has the same energy and similar role.
I remember that season of Smallville. Bautista and Kane were both phantoms that escaped the Phantom Zone when Clark got out. Kane was named Titan but i forgot what Bautista's name was, but i know he was eating people
I thought it was really cool when he was a bond villains henchmen years ago. I don't remember what movie it was but he fights bond on a train and I think he gets thrown off or bond kills him or something.
Amazing work ethic and honestly? I feel like the same applies to Roman Reigns. Nobody like his promos back in the day but he's gotten better and better at it, and now he's arguebly one of the best. He draws the audience's interest in now.
Dude has grown SO much at the craft. It's been wonderful to watch. I don't watch horror movies but I want to see that Knock At the Cabin just for the trailer, he looks to have come so far and it seems so different from his other roles. Glass Onion, Guardians. He has taken it seriously and I really respect that.
Absolute respect for recognising what he was capable of at the time and honing is craft. Even though it was a small part as Sapper in Blade Runner, what he managed to do was just stunning. He's also been more willing to do less typecast films that you wouldn't expect him to do.
1st batista movie i saw with my brothers Wrong side of town We bought the dvd from Walmart 😂i actually enjoyed the movie rvd was in it too and Big daddy V as well i believe
Being in guardians of the galaxy playing a low iq monster isn’t good acting. Mjf is going to have longer scripts and intelligent roles. Bautista is gassed up and his mic skills were rotten just like his movies that nobody wants to see for him at least
He did get better compared to that film. Blade Runner 2049 is where you'll see how much he improved or his performance in Knock at the Cabin although the movie did bad but people praised his acting there.
I think many Batista fans would say that Guardians of Galaxy 2 and Blade Runner 2049 really showcased Batista's acting chops. That scene where Mantis felt Drax's loss, my goodness....Dave acting in that scene was chef kiss
