You go by the 1 page per day standard. This is whats universally expected. Of course you have to determine what you day is, 8hrs, 10hrs 15hrs and so on. How lond it takes depends on the page of course. I've done pages anywhere from 2hrs to 8hrs and on extreme cases spread over two days. It all varies.
Just tried watching this in slow motion... A far cry from real-time (due to the missing frames) but it still makes you appreciate the effort invested in the whole process more. This guy doesn't trace like some inkers tend to do - he creates. Sometimes when you see some amazing pencil-work being inked, it makes you feel sad since it happens that it looses the impact it originally had. But this guy (and other like him - not many I'd say) makes pencils flourish.
Just amazing work. Your brush use is inspiring! I'm a digital inker, but haven't been able to duplicate the effect where the brush starts out flat but then is pulled out to a point. There may not BE an equivalent!
awesome dude! i love that i finally see incredible flowing inking i mean your stuff makes Capullo's work look lyrical. its refreshing to see someone who has broken away from that cross hatching style which drives me completely nuts. i mean there are just not enough words in the English language to express how this type of technique makes me feel. sorry about the soliloquy but its just so damn amazing dude.
The dry brush effect looks incredible as your doing it. The final version lost soo much when it got colored and compressed down for the book. At least we have the youtube version to admire.
What type of Windsor Newton miniature brush are you using again? I dabbled in the 102 crow quill but I need a better working space to use that, brushes and the inks... Anyways I love your inks and Capullo's lines and I have especially been enjoying the New 52 Batman comics especially the Night of the Owls arc. Looking forward to more!

How long does a typical comic book page take to ink on average?(I realized every panel is different, but curious as to what kind of time line to expect.
I am currently using staedtler pens for inking. Seeing you use these brushes makes me wonder, you get a whole lot more life out of those don't you? What are your thoughts on it?
why does one person pencil and a different person ink? id hate to draw something that good and give it away for someone else to finish. you did amazing inking though gotta say

Question to the artist. What are your thoughts about all that digital inking people are doing nowadays, you know, stuff with Photoshop and Manga Studio. I myself think that real inking will always be more beatiful than digital inking, also you can kinda tell wen somebody used digital software for inking, because they over do it so to speak.
