It's intentional for him to do so, because it goes on forever and ever. So once he gets hit, he stops playing. He does the same thing for the other characters too, not just Nightwing.

I don't think you get what I'm saying. He got the medal around the 2 minute mark. He didn't let himself die until after 9 minutes. If the only purpose was to get all three medals.. This wouldn't have been a 9 minute video. Personally I was content with watching him kick ass. Could have been a 20 minute video and I still would have watched it all.
