A collection of themes that make up the Protocol Ten theme. The music is made up of the first initial theme, the base, the base with the melody, a choral theme by itself and finally the second of two variations of the Main Theme. Enjoy.
The part where Alfred and Oracle plead with Batman to save the inmate population while he was heading to go save Talia as the music rises up never fails to give me chills. This game's score is simply amazing!
Tyger Security Quotes: "Hits successful. Multiple inmate casualties." "Targets are all hit. Sector Four is lit up like a Christmas tree." "Thermal scans of the area are showing fifteen...no...seventeen casualties." "Boom! Scratch twenty more inmates." "Targets are all hit. Casualties in Sector One are topping one hundred." It still gives me goosebumps, because all of Batman's effort and his code of non-murder were being thrown away in front of his eyes and he can't do anything about it, only being able to eliminate the problem at the source of his origin.
We never got a casualty count for Protocol 10. Alfred estimates there to be around 1000 prisoners within Arkham City at one point, Hugo Strange at claims during the event that casualty rates were approaching 22%, and that's at least 10 minutes before Protocol 10 is stopped. If we estimate Prisoners were dying at around the same rate for that amount of time, we can probably estimate the total count to be around 25%. So Strange killed at least 250 people, probably more, in only about half an hour.
@@saltybox1019 Very little, I'm just speculating. Not enough actual data for any real calculations, and if there were, I'm certainly not the person to do them.
You fucking kidding me, right ? Batman just stopped the Protocol 10 because he want to protect the Gotham’s people and the political prisioners. Batman is not a villain, he doesn’t care about criminals’s life.
Yes... But he actually wanted to save Talia before trying to stop Protocol 10. Had not been for Oracle and Alfred, there would have been way more dead people in Arkham City (not only prisoners and political prisoners, but also the infiltrated cops in the museum and the medical personnel and their security team).
I will always love these Arkham City cover arts. They’ve always been and most likely will be my favorite game colors. The color splash mixed with the black and white is unbeatable
I love seeing how many people hold this game high for sentimental reasons. This game and it’s ending had me in love with the art of it. Storytelling. Shock factors. Dramatic scores. I was in my first year of high school and suddenly knew what I wanted to do with my life. I soon found a dog, adopted her, named her Harley after her oversized and floppy ears, and the fact she’d smile when excited. All these years later, I finally got a chance to pick up Arkham Knight. I beat it, collected all the riddles with my Harley in her urn by my side. Thank you, Batman. For showing me so much.
One thing that I don’t think gets enough cred in Arkham city is the promotional art that came with the game. Like this art right here screams you’re gonna have badass time in this video game.
ikr, action adventure games are so good. You get to play as your heroes, your idols. You get to feel like you ARE them, all with sick graphics and gameplay.
Hard to take this soundtrack seriously after what happened in suicide squad, thank you so much whoever wrote suicide squad for doing what you did with batman :/
Yo puedo entender la muerte de batman, por Kevin conroy, que muera su personaje junto con él. Pero es una muerte tan estúpida y decepcionante que no tiene sentido. El batman de arkham jamás se hubiera dejado asesinar, y menos por harley.
The quote that best summarized how Batman saw himself "Deep down, Clark is a genuinely good person. And deep down, I'm not" He knows he's a "monster in a mask"
3:42 This....this right here captures where Bruce is racing.... grappling from helicopter to another...trying to get the "Tyger Master controller" to gain access to Wonder Tower ...his mind racing back and forth trying to figure out how to stop Strange and save Talia at the same time...the music in this game is something else
@@BlackOmEga_2099 Incorrect. Only retards, bad toxic gamers and people with bad poisoned brains would ever support the concept of "game of the year". Stop with that nonsensical bullshit.
If one day warner bros is deciding to listen to the fans and actually bring a batman like arkham batman to the cinema then marvel can take his things and leave the business. But hopfully one day a fan will sit on the right place in that company and then things will be interesting..
notice how arkham city batman chooses talia over gotham's people. and in AK he chooses to sacrifice in the ace chemicals building when it's about to blast in any minute. and then the roles are reversed, alfred insists batman to get out of there and save himself, he replies with; "it's what you taught me alfred, do the right thing. " and that moment was the one to make me feel emotional. man i love arkham series so much. RIP kevin ❤️
Only a Batman as powerful as Kevin Conroy could do this theme any justice. Though the man is temporary, his legend is eternal. From the hearts of anyone who ever loved Batman, thank you, Kevin, you will be missed.
@flame_zzl The SSKTJ game says that he will come back. Also the game wasn't Kevin's last performance. There are more recordings and projects he's done before this that they're releasing.
@@flame_zzl I don't think it will. And even if it does, it won't change the story or what it's done. I love Kevin, and Kevin said he loved being an evil batman. Hating on those people isn't something Kevin would want you to do. He said he had a fun time and they also gave him 2 memoriams to show love for him.
True, I was 13 when I bought it for the first time, now I'm nearly 23 and still playing it, 10 years of batman, man, time flies very fast, awesome saga 🦇🦇🦇🦇
@@ettoregarozzo5206 I was 11 and remember parked out of GameStop with my mom for the midnight release, pre ordered a collectors edition and won a poster in a raffle they did. Still have the poster hanging up. So many good memories from this series and this game.
Arkham City is always going to hold a special place in my heart. Not only has it always been my favorite Batman game, it holds a little sentimental value to me now since October of last year. I was staying at my grandmother's due to her being in the hospital frequently over the previous 2 months. One evening before my mother and I had to help her get into bed, she was watching me play this. I was at the part where protocol 10 started and this music started playing. She was immersed into it. The next day, she died in my hands. She had been having heart problems amongst other health issues and her heart gave out that morning. Nowadays I can't bring myself to play this game often and only for short periods of time, because this game was one of the last things she saw. Everytime I listen to this, I only think of three things, my grandmother, Batman, and Kevin Conroy.
The idea of Protocol 10 still makes my skin crawl. Seeing the helicopters fire missiles at buildings across the city, like something out a person's worst fears. And the idea of just killing all the prisoners, machine gunning them down, blowing them up with missiles, or having them get crushed to death in rubble caused by the missiles is horrifying to think about. Yes, the population of Arkham City were criminals, but they were still human beings, that's why we get to hear their dialogue while roaming through the city. And some of them were just people who Hugo Strange unlawfully imprisoned without charge, political prisoners he would silence by any means necessary. Gotham City's crime problem needed to be dealt with, but this is appalling.
It's so difficult to explain to some people why Protocol 10 is wrong, almost as difficult as explaining why Batman shouldn't kill people. It's not his job, it's illegal, it's wrong. Strange is killing hundreds of people, up to a thousand, maybe a little more than that. He's ending lives that don't necessarily deserve to be ended. It's one thing to question mercy on a stone cold monster like the Joker or the Penguin, but these thugs are just hooligans without choices, nurtured to lack morals. That they've escaped prison so many times is purely due to the exploits of their bosses, and the corruption of Gotham's leaders. All of these things are interconnected. Strange was a fool for thinking gunning down hundreds of helpless thugs would somehow save Gotham.
Yeah Protocol 10 didn't solve Gotham's crime problem in the end. The leaders of the underworld still lived on. The rich and powerful crooks like The Penguin and Two-Face still were in every sector of Gotham by the time Arkham Knight came around. The Joker died from completely unrelated reasons. Strange was just killing the prisoners of Arkham City just to solve crime the quick and easy way. He and Sharp manipulated the public's wishes for crime to end in order to justify murdering hundreds of people, for an impossible cause of permanently stopping crime. Its no surprise that he would jail Bruce Wayne and anyone who spoke out against him. Hugo Strange never really wanted to save Gotham from crime. He just wanted to be known as the one who did it.
I would have loved if AK explored the aftermath of this more. My least favorite in the series as its quality just isn't as good as the other three games. I came up with a fan fic idea I'd like to share. (SPOILERS BELOW) Batman is being hunted after AC due to him "killing" (which he honestly did imo) The Joker. Lex Luthor along with Scarecrow saved TYGER's ass by buying out and resetting the company. But in reality TYGER is now much more dangerous with better arms and more men, serving as the two's private army. The twist in AC regarding Ras al Ghul and Strange is null and void as I think Strange works better as a stand alone villain. There IS NO ARKHAM KNIGHT OR MILITIA HERE (the Militia just is stupid story wise to add in is why, TYGER makes more sense here). Mentioning him in AC or another game is fine but this is focused on Batman, Superman (I'll get to him here in a sec), Scarecrow, Hush, Two Face, and The Joker (postmortem wise). Jason Todd and what happened with him does help bring more conflict to Batman himself though. But anyway, Scarecrow is in control over Gotham City now in secret as its largest villain finally. TYGER controls the streets and skies along with cyberworld of Gotham. Gotham's cops have been discarded and lack funding along with resources. Batman is seen as a murderous villain due to AC's events (like in TDKR) and Superman has been imprisoned due to Scarecrow giving him Kryptonic Fear Gas that made him think that he was defending Krypton from invaders when in reality he killed many in Metropolis. And now the Toxin is poisoning Superman's blood, killing him, truly showing how powerful it really is. But Scarecrow at last has what he wants. Gotham as a city of fear. The Cloudburst is his backup plan here in case his plan for Batman vs Superman fails miserably. He wants to rule Gotham though besides that. Luthor isn't as focused on but I just thought he'd work here. Not a big Superman buff sorry! Two Face/Harvey I'm following the comic storyline where he gets surgery and becomes normal again but deep down doesn't want it and mutilates his face off in fromt of a mirror. Post Catwoman slashing (she's disappeared from Gotham here...or has she?), he has cut all of his ties regarding crime and has earned his license back as a DA along with becoming stable mentally. But the AC aftermath is pushing him and finally he snaps and flips his coin after Falcone, the man responsible for his scarring, gets off of his AC charges and is allowed to go scot free. While this occurs on TV, Harvey sets down the revolver he had pointed at his own head because his coin came up heads, knocking over the whiskey bottle next to him. And so he slices half of his restored face off and decides to get revenge once and for all on the final vendettas he desires to settle. You got Falcone, you got the US Marshal Fred Lackwitz who failed to stop Dent from being attacked, you got Hush (he restored his face for him but Dent thinks he "mangled" Two Face and Harvey), and finally you got Batman, the other guy who stood by while he was attacked. Along with maybe a random cop or two and Gordon. Hush meanwhile has been targeting Bruce Wayne by framing him for three murders of former servants of Gotham and he intends on destroying him once and for all. But he's also doing the Pyg storyline where he's killing foreigners that went missing in other states. This is part of why Barman returns here. Joker is a psychological threat here. No blood bullshit involving him and Gotham's hospitals. You can keep most of the stuff with him. Batman meanwhile has been in hiding while the Knightmare Batman which is a combination of Scarecrow and Luthor is out at night killing any criminals he can find and harming TYGER guards. Bruce is on trial and may lose his company and Gordon has gone silent regarding their communications along with Batman's other allies for miscellaneous reasons. But now he must be pulled back out into the spotlight to fight Superman or Gotham will truly become...a City of Fear. Sorry. I'm tired and this is long and took 30 minutes but it's the best that I could come up with and I feel like it works great! Better than the finale we got.
@@Resi1ience it kinda would plus let’s not forget that Ra’s Al Ghoul was the real mastermind behind Arkham city Strange was just his puppet and then when he didn’t need him anymore he killed him and cut his strings.Strange was just trying to live up to Ra’s Al Ghoul’s expectations.
God was this a powerful theme. I really wish the protocol 10 part of the game lasted for a bit longer. A second boss fight with Ra’s al Ghul would have been really cool, consider he’s actually the mastermind behind it all. He controlled Strange. Having to fight him again where it’s one on one combat like Deathstroke’s fight from Origins would have been amazing. City is already a near perfect game as it is though. Definitely my favourite of the Arkham series
@@bluejellybeancos honestly, the Mr Freeze Boss Fight was a boss fight that in my opinion, exceeded Origins Boss Fight Level. ( can’t say it tops Deathstroke, however.)
a second boss fight with Ra’s, imagine that! shortly after Ra’s literally stabs Strange in the back, he sends several of his ninjas to distract Batman, before appearing out of nowhere and throwing himself and Batman out of wonder tower - except, there is no explosion. Protocol 10 is still in full force, and there’s gunfire, explosions and death echoing across Arkham City; as Batman and Ra’s battle their way across rooftops, random thugs, TYGER guards and League of Assassins ninjas appear to either aid or attack, both Batman and Ra’s. after fighting their way across several rooftops, Batman throws Ra’s to the ground before grappling into a TYGER helicopter headed to check on Strange. Ra’s grabs onto Batman’s leg and they both grab onto the skis of the helicopter, as Strange activates Protocol 11. The entire wonder tower explodes, sending pieces of shrapnel all over the city and shredding the helicopters’ rotors - Batman loses sight of Ra’s as the helicopter loses control amidst the destruction of Arkham City, the end of Protocol 10, and the death of Strange. Batman then had to find the joker, hidden somewhere in the ruins of the social experiment that was Arkham City.
