Three years ago today, Batman: Arkham Knight was released worldwide on current-gen consoles. Here's a highly requested video to celebrate! Hope you all like it.
"ya know he's always been in good shape for a playboy" "yea did you see that beach photoshoot? guy had definition in places i'm not sure i got muscle tissue"
@@kennylunacy thugs like these are the ones who think they’re smart because they’re a part of a criminal organization and have each other’s backs but in reality they’re not bright in the head.
15:24, It would have been pretty cool if this singular Militia soldier was legitimately difficult for Batman to take down in hand-to-hand combat. He would have been like a boss fight nobody would have expected.
@@smokey12823 There wasn't any bosses at all! Just tank fights! Plus the game was bugged as hell when it came out and is still pretty glitchy, so I guess they didn't have much brains to spare.
“Who would’ve thought Batman is Bruce Wayne.” “Who?” “Bruce Wayne? You don’t know who Bruce Wayne is and you’re in Gotham?” “Oh yeah, Bruce Wayne! Haha who would’ve thought he’s Batman. That’s so unlike the guy!”
Some of them are even members of Bane's crew. There is a dialogue in which a Militia soldier says he was in Gotham before as part of Bane's group. Probably a reference to Arkham Origins
Reminds me of the one thug that says he moved to Gotham City at a young age because he wanted to see Batman but ended up as a soldier working against him
I think the only conversation missing is where one thug talks about Robin and then the other says "wait didn't Joker kill Robin", than the first thug says "thats what he said but its not like hes got spares". This is one of the rarest conversations in the entire game
It's amazing, honestly. I don't get some of the hate it got when released, it's probably in my personal top 5 of best games ever. No other game makes you so immersed in the surroundings and the atmosphere of being Batman.
@@ivanaleksandartsanev1693 the Steam release was garbage. they had to retract it from the platform for 3 months to optimize it for many systems. also people were mad about the batmobile for being used "too much" and the arkham knight being Jason Todd even tho the director said that the AK was going to be an original character.
@@stormdragon2529 I guess that makes sense, though I remember playing on a high level mid-tier laptop at the time and managed to totally enjoy the first playthrough. Of course, my new laptop has an RTX 3080 so it's on a different level to see the gameplay so smooth, but I loved it originally as well, because the Arkham series has a special allure for the Batman world.
26:58 I'm surprised nobody ever talks about this easter egg, since it practically beats you over the head with confirmation that the Birds of Prey exist.
@@tjknight Team 7 was a military special ops group including Black Canary, Deathstroke, Grifter, and Steve Trevor, tasked with preventing potential metahuman threats.
The fact that this video is an hour and a half just goes to show how much work and intensive detail went into this game, and all Arkham games. Best superhero games of all time.
@WeArePSU632 i totally agree with you.but think if they didnt do this random dialogue.it would have felt very empty.it was needed to have these conversations.
Wait a minute? So this thug was the thug Bruce beat up in the beginning of Arkham city with Penguin? Damn this game is filled to the brim with details.
If Batman ever chose to become a criminal, he could take over Gotham City easily with his resources. More than half of the common thugs, thieves and murderers in the city would more or less swear allegiance to him immediately because they still fear and respect him, even if they hate him.
@@silviogrijalva8801 But he would become a murderous psychopath. It's the whole point of the Joker trying to break Batman, which means break his mental state. "One bad day is all it takes".
@@ivanaleksandartsanev1693 If only Batman can learn Balance lol instead of being an extremist. You can kill without being a murderous psychopath if you can control it. I think Bruce is just afraid he won't be able to find that balance and control himself.
18:28 that's really nice theory... Kinda makes sense even though we know the truth and they will eventually know the truth as well... Imagine his disappointment though 😁😁
@@dananaditya9347 Glad there’s someone out there that thinks about this. Like of batman existed for years irl like in batman i bet Joe rogan would have people on making theories about who he is. Maybe would even have bruce wayne on the show who debunks the conspiracy theories online about him being batman
This line genuinely scared me while I was playing. Like I never thought of Scarecrows fear toxin to be affective considering Batman was under its influence and all it did was blurry the TV screen and put you through a boring "Scarecrow is huge now and you need to jump and platform around him to beat him" level. But this line got rid of that goofiness and made me fear for what will happen to Gotham next (Pun intended).
@@Spider-Mate It's pretty terrifying to think what it'd be like if the toxin was real. I mean, it's gotta eat a person up inside. Like, yeah, you could threaten or scare a guy with a weapon or somethin', but with the toxin, it feeds on the person's innermost fears based on their personal experiences. I mean, really think about it. Every day you're not just reminded of things you regret or grief you've felt, but they become visualized, as if you're still in the moment. Just leeching on you, even after you submit to it. No gun can do that. And on top of that, I don't think (in Arkham Knight) that it's said how long the toxin lasts (though correct me if i'm wrong). So it could possibly last as long as years.
@@just1randomguy658Alfred mentions that even a small dose of the new fear toxin can cause long-term mental trauma, and Scarecrow’s plan A consisted on blowing up Ace Chemicals to make a toxin cloud big enough to cover the entire east coast, billions of people would’ve been dozed to the new toxin which also renders gas masks obsolete, let alone talk about the fallout, and you know what the worse past is? Scarecrow saw that as collateral damage all just to make a point to Batman.
I’m pretty sure the GCPD have actual sniper rifles on their rooftops. So if they try to shoot at their building, those mercs are gonna get their heads blown off.
I like the one that involves the big guy with the machine gun and the little guy with the smaller gun talk about what happened with Poison Ivy and the Fear Toxin.
unfortunately it seems that the joker is dead and batgirl was not exposed to fear toxin (but i haven't really played the DLC so i assume she hasn't been)
I really appreciate the heart and soul this game was given..... just a shame the tank combat was soooooo prevalent. Stealth and regular combat was so hugely improved. Story was good enough. Just that dang car/tank
Austyn Balcom There was no way they would introduce a new game mechanic and not use it a lot. Arkham Knight is my second favorite game, and I’m very proud to be still covering this game.
The Arkham Channel They CLEARLY over did it. Specifically with all the riddles trophies..... and a BOSS BATTLE (that was of the "main villian") being in the tank..... Glad to see you still covering it. Why I'm subbed :)
I wouldn’t say evil. I would say indifferent, most of these guys say that they’re just doing it because they need the money. Some even say they don’t like what they’re doing
31:45 Merc 1: They just don't get it, do they? The mercenary life? Merc 2: Exactly! I put food on the table, blood diamonds in her jewelry box, I laundered all my money through her company - she didn't even have to ask! And she dumps me! Merc 1: I hear you. My other half's a human rights lawyer. He, er, thinks I'm on a business trip. Batman, from high up on a tightrope: *Ha, GAAAAAAAY!*
52:26 I Find this fairly interesting, since the Criminals of Gotham are already fairly terrified of batman. Though the fact he might actually kill them instead of his already fairly menacing presence over them scares the living shit out of them.
Later in the game when batman is succumbing to the brain disease you'll hear some dialogue where they mention how he seems like hes "hitting harder than before" and "not holding back as much"
It was my reaction when I first started using the bat mobile. I thought Batman just snapped after the death of Joker and just decided to go full Punisher
I remember there was a line from the militia that they saw Jason Todd's face. It was like "Arkham Knight was a kid" or somethin. They even saw Jason crying
When I heard 17:46, I got so freaking excited because I thought I was gonna get a Deathstroke rematch, and I refocused myself to clearing the militia checkpoints and outposts in order to get it, but I never managed to finish...... What a bullet I dodged, huh?
Really though, we got one of the greatest boss battles in the entire series back in origins and here they just gave us another tank fight.. how pathetic smh
i love the notion that Gotham city is internationally infamous for having weird supervillain shit happening all the time, in addition to the high rate of traditional crime
i love the one where th thug says "why are the militia still here. im rooting for batman to kick their ass. this is our city" the tone of voice always makes me laugh
32:00 i wanna watch the sitcom about the gay human rights lawyer and his husband, a black market mercenary who commits war crimes on domestic soil behind his back
Anytime some thug, militia soldier, or whatever started talking big I always appreciated how someone was there to point out how many *other* people had boasted about how they were going to take down The Bat. Always made it so much more satisfying to drop down and kick ass right afterwards. It was such a lovely invitation, how could I refuse?
I feel like a game about the Ark Knight and how he built his army. Going off recruiting cast away soldiers, killing those who get in your way and researching cutting edge tech. Kinda like another MGS game
I like how these guys have the most simple conversations while being trained soldiers They're just doing their jobs, taking orders, and then here we come, turning their leg sideways, stealing their femurs, and twisting their arms 180° like the menace we are lol
I love how dialogue from the guards shows us just how powerful Scarecrow's Fear Toxin is. Even in its gaseous state, which Scarecrow himself admits isn't nearly as potent as the liquid Fear Toxin in his Freddy Krueger-esc syringe hand thing, is powerful enough to cause convincing auditory hallucinations just after breathing in a small amount.
13:30 cracks me up so much. Just the bravado slowly fading down to the uncertainty. And then the certainty of "we had an understanding". Almost makes me feel bad when you break in later. XD
I honestly love the Militia reaction to finding bodies, their little talks “Was it batman?” “No bruises Choked out(Something like that)” and how they know his MO and then at the end there’s one left they’re terrified and Knight is just wanting him to be taken out although I don’t think there’s any dialogue when they’re alone
I think we can all agree that Militia Conversation #8 is relatable to a degree And at 13:18 I like those two militia soldiers. They seem nice, a hell of a lot nicer than most other thugs. And at 51:55, one of the thugs was being really dramatic with their threat. "Its gonna be NICE and SLOOOW" 😂😂
@@TheArkhamChannel if you were to leave a bat-vision detecter guard last and you sneak up behind him til he detects you welll i'll just show you.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lVmBXDyreqE.html
I was pretty much a little kid when I first started following your channel all those years ago. It's amazing to see how far you've come ever since then and with a new rocksteady game coming soon it only goes up from here
The Arkham Channel I'm sure everybody who knows they are developing another game is hoping it's a game related to the Arkham series somehow even if you're not batman because there were many holes left in the story after Arkham knight
Haven't started watching but I have to Like and comment prior to it. A million times, thank you. Some of the criminals are so funny I almost feel sorry for beating them to a pulp. Even without Paul Dini involved, this game had wonderful writing. I was saddened because there was no E3 presence nor announcement, but now, I can't help but feeling happy.
As much as people clown on this, it makes the games feel a lot more alive than if they were just silent. Plus, they do give some funny ironic comments, or even comments that make you think “hey yeah that’s weird”, like the “Batman and a giant bat person” comment
I heard a poor thug trying to convince his buddy that there was an actual bat (Man-Bat) flying in Gotham, but his buddy just reminded him it was Batman.
