This glitch may get patched so do it while you can :) I was not the first to find it but i think the first youtuber to find it was Slcmof so i will give him credit if you think the video is too long you can always speed it up.

Lol what Batman should have done was call Superman/Justice League for this massive villian uprising. The city would have been saved in minutes and Batman's identity would remain safe.
it's a shame they didn't make it possible to return there, would've been an awesome easter egg, wander round a couple areas and have a couple flashbacks to the events of the asylum, would've been great
My favorite thing about the background locations is the amount of detail. Hugo tower still has the exploded hole, the steal mill, gcpd, ivy house are all there, and the asylum still has ivys plants around parts of it.

The achievement for going to the asylum could be called "Take me on home to the asylum" and the city achievment could be "Remember in Arkham city" Does anyone get the reference?
When the game was announced for PS4/Xbox One, I thought they would have made missions where Batman has to go back to the Asylum or City to collect something left behind. That would've been possible with the current-gen consoles.
I do like how with each game you can see the locations of all the previous entries. When you're playing City you can see the Asylum and in Knight you can see both Arkham City and the Asylum. I'm pretty sure the geometry of the entire 'world' doesn't match up if you compare all three games' depiction of it side by side, but it's still cool nonetheless.
They shouldn't have changed all this shit. I think they should either made Arkham Asylum and city with knight graphics, atmosphere and gameplay, or just stuck to the Original GOTY editions but at 60fps

Just play that game then. We all. Wanted gotham and got it but now we should be able to explore another gigantic area that would of delayed it further.

Thanks to the algorithm I now realize how detailed the asylum and Arkham city are, for being out in the distance. You have to respect Rocksteady for the insanely good details.
Fr, they could have just added simple plain images of the areas for the background, but no, they imported the original models (even though not in their original state) to look even better
Actually, quite a while believe it or not. Unless you're ok with not being able to grapple. Also there would be no easy way off the island if the made it traverse-able. Another problem is that they would have to size it up to almost touch Gotham, and get in the way of Arkham City. It would be possible through modding, though the devs would never put the time in to make it.
It could have been an easter egg, a full size full rendered asylum with the bat boat on the dock near the medical treatment place. Only purpose would be to get the bat boat and an achievement perhaps, IDK about city tho, that seems way too much
I just had an interesting idea about texture quality tech. So imagine a system that dynamically lowers texture quality based on lighting so really dark areas won't have high use of texture effects and texture resolution until they're illuminated. I was just admiring the low LOD assets because the texture used is clever. It only looks like something from a distance.

while it would be really cool to revisit arkham city and asylum, what would the point of the devs putting that effort into the game if they were both basically shut down? i mean sure, the argument can be made that theyd make good hiding spots for a couple riddler trophies and riddles, but if they did include that, there's no way that the devs would make the whole thing explorable. what i always wanted to see was a fully explorable batcave accessible from gotham city (yes i do know that we sort of got that out of origins but that was before jason todd happened. itd be super cool to see jasons old suit on display)
The fact that all Arkham games just takes place near each other and they always paid attention to each others background is amazing, no open World game does that because it is always an island covered by the water or the game just set in another city/country which it makes their places not be comparable.
+HeadHunter5898 If you're replying to Thrash. He puts a hat/mask on you & Batman imagines fighting though out the past games again. I noticed Arkham City's Joker thugs and the TYGER guards. Don't recall if there were asylum skinned enemies or Origins enemies but likely.
I like how the Arkham City portion of the background seems to actually be to scale. It only seems small cause you glide sooo much faster in Knight. Awesome
sort of annoys me how all the previous map locations, and more (Wayne's mansion) are all in this game but had no actual role other than to be used in cutscenes

What they should have done was make the Asylum a genuine part of the map, but kept it a secret (like the secret room in the first game) and have a few extra challenges on there, and allowed you to find some tool in the batcave there to allow you to get a different ending

Every time I see a video like this I like to think of it as a representation of game graphics throughout the years where at the begining your graphics are whatever the newest console is and the end is just the ps1
I like how this lines up with the theory that Batman is actually insane. He flies out over the water, which shouldn't even be possible because he supposedly can't fly, goes over Arkham Asylum, only now it seems like he's two hundred feet tall, and sees tiny houses that look like they're made out of cardboard before crashing into a cliff, dying, and going back to where he was before.
It's cool from how they kept those plants coming out of the asylum when you fought Poison Ivy for that boss battle even when they made a border so we couldn't see the other parts of the places we've been to but yet they still put it it there. I expected it to be just a island made some of rocks.
