I love the fact that they included separate dialogues for both Harvey and Two-Face. The part that really got me was the fact that Harvey referred to himself as "me" and "I" was when he was more "in control." Two-Face always stuck with "we" and "us." Right in the feels. Favorite Arkham video for a favorite villain. Good job.
"It's not the face you're given. It's the face you choose." I fucking love that quote by Harvey Dent/Two-Face. This game has some really deep and profound quotes by the villains. Then again, I think Batman-lore is known for the complexity of its villains.
When Batman said: ''I'm sorry, Harvey.'' I wish Two-Face would have responded with: ''No you're not. Not yet.'' Would be a nice reference to The Dark Knight imo :D
Yikes. Wish they'd ditch that number 2 obsession and just make it more subtle. What does the number 2 have to do with a crusading DA scarred by mobsters and tortured by DID anyway?
Director Aaron Navy isn’t it kinda the point though? Dark knight returns Harvey still has the split personality and the obsession of the #2. They just fixed his face but that’s just it, Arkham’s administration didn’t care about his mentality as much of the physical repair.
@@legoben98productions Yea but why does having a split personality translate into an obsession with #2? Even his original story didn't have that in it. It's a dumb motif. Other stories have started making him more about criminal justice and such, and it suits his character a lot better. His split personality formed from rage at corruption and injustice: why's it care about numbers?
@@aaronkenyon7112 I think I only recently found out that Tim Drake was recast Matthew Mercer in Arkham Knight, though. Also Jack Ryder is voiced by James Horan.
Two-Face: No....No......No! Batman: Settle down Dent. Two-Face: Don't call me that he's dead! Batman: I don't believe that. Harvey Dent: I wish I was dead.. I'm a freak because of you! Batman: That wasn't my fault. Two-Face: You're the man who put the acid-throwing bastard in the dock! Harvey Dent: You said we'd save Gotham. Batman: I'm sorry Harvey.
Funny how Two-Face really gets "it". Bruce Wayne in truth isn't Batman, "Bruce Wayne" is more of a persona to "Batman". Huh... hadn't really noticed this thin line between Two-Face and Batman before, now that I think of it.
I mean it fits perfectly. Bruce Wayne is just a mask to project a image that wards people away from making the connection. Hes Bruce Wayne when hes out in public, at parties and such projecting a image of a irresponsible playboy and ladies man who does charities here and there. Underneath that is the other side, perhaps the real person that emerges when he trades one mask for another.
The acid attack is only part of what fuels Two Face, this was a man who was the victim of a vicious circle;he prosecutes them, only for them to walk free a month later on a technicality, that's enough to drive anyone mad!
Zein Alfurati In what way? I'm not trying to be combative or anything. I'm just curious as to why you think so. I kind of felt like City and Knight just portray him as a regular criminal with obligatory mentions to his past as an attorney.
Nah I don't know it. Infact two face has practically been downgraded in the comics lately in the new 52. If you show a picture of ras and two face to a non comic book or non super hero loving kinda person, most people would say they know two face and not some mystical looking dude.
Zein Alfurati "sure kid." Okay XD. But back to the argument, Two-face has always been written badly yet somehow still stays in every top 5 batman villains. In the comics, two face had his face repaired and batman trained him in hand-to-hand combat and let him watch over gotham for a full entire year, of course he eventually became two face again but after that he was able to go toe to toe with Nightwing, hell in the the story arc where he is a vigilante he takes killer croc down by himself. He was taught by deathstroke on how to be a good marksmen (paying him a great deal of course).
Inder Salwan I literally laughed at everything the joker said, and he scared the crap out of me when he showed up... it's funny this game made me jump at least 4 times.
I love how they make Harvey the more gentler bad guy but then switch to Two Face whos more aggressive, its really convincing. I wonder what happens if u expose them to Jokers blood
All hail Based Lord Quan Chi for real tho, they should've made it so that 4 thugs escort him while he looks for you or something so it'll be harder to take him down
I liked these missions, but I thought it would've been cooler if they introduced the Royal Flush Gang and instead have THEM go after the banks. Like have each of the gang go after their own bank and have mini-boss battles based on the character robbing that bank
GRRRR that last conversation two-face had with batman is so goddam fascinating! I wish batman replied. I need to see a cinematic of two-face talking about the duality of bruce wayne/batman
"Two Face and Penguin loose in OUR city? We need to show 'em who's boss! So, whose throat are we gonna slit first?" The little hallucinatory interactions between Batman and Joker were the best part of this game for me.
They said in this game Harley, Penguin, Two-face, and Scarecrow were all gonna work together, but really Scarecrow was just like "ok you guys just do whatever you want Batman can't focus on all of us at once!" I was hoping for some REAL teamwork between all of them. That's what it looked like in all the trailers and interviews :(
R. Robin In the context of the game it is just a truce and all of them have pooled their money into hiring the Militia. Penguin also provided the weapons for the Bank Robberies according to one of the Audio Files
Nah, the dlc in City was purely about Catwoman. Two-Face didn't even matter in it. He should've just had a more in-depth storyline with Batman, and a better boss fight that utilizes his duel pistols and fighting skill
Man, it's a credit to the writers that they made Two-Face a tragic, yet sympathetic, villain. It's very clear that Harvey's done some despicable things in his criminal career. At the same time, though, you still find yourself hoping that, deep down, beneath the madness, the good man he used to be is still there.
the joker in this game is supposed to be all of the stuff batman holds back which means bruce has canonically thought a lot about whether or not two face has a fucked up dick 16:18
Sahib Batman took down the mob and Harvey Dent before he became Two-Face was leading the prosecution, one mobster threw acid at Dent while Batman to save him but it was too late
Harvey is certainly one of the tragic villains of Gotham since Harvey Dent was the white knight of Gotham who cleaned up the city through the justice system. But alas tragedy struck Harvey causing his mind to shatter and became a criminal himself; "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain".
***** To be honest and pardon my potential ignorance but...what can you really do with Two Face as a boss fight when he has no powers beyond leading a gang and having a gun?
Well that falls under personal opinion not fact. I myself didn't mind those especially when I managed to get accustomed to the bat mobile and could use it to pull off quick combos
Except for being horrifically scarred, Two-Face ain't any different from a normal person. He ain't got special powers. Just OCD about 2s and coin flips.
"You make a monster out of us and then you hunt us down!" If I remember in _Batman Forever_, Batman tried to stop Maroni from throwing acid at Harvey's face, but was a few seconds too late. "So, how how's it hanging, Harv? Color me insensitive, but I've always wanted to ask: did EVERYTHING get split down the middle?" "Oh Bats, you just bring out the best in everyone! Your enemies, your friends - even your best frenemies like Harv, here: He's at least halfway interesting these days and it's all thanks to you." Man, Joker always knows when to push Harvey's buttons. At least in the story ending aftermath, Harvey can know that his best friend has never given up on him.
CheesyGranola Well, I remember it happening in _Detective Comics_ Vol. 1, issue 66: "The Crimes of Two-Face." As seen here: www.batman-online.com/features/1348924504_dc66.jpg
+CheesyGranola In "the Long Halloween" (Two Face's origin story), Batman wasn't there to stop Maroni from burning Harvey's face, as it was in a courtroom and Batman obviously couldn't just stand in that room, protecting Dent.
There is a way you can make this boss fight interesting. You can take out all the militia and leave Harvey for last. Then you can disrupt his gun and then fight him head on. I tried that and I really enjoyed it.
I find it really cool how it says if its two face talking, or harvey dent. Like when you talk to him in the cell, it will say in the subtitles if its harvey dent or two face. Pretty neat, his voice even becomes less menacing.
Two face is robbing a bank Alfred: perhaps mister dent has misplaced his coin Dang Harvey better watch out Alfred's coming to even dents face up with these burns

15:08 When I hear that quote everytime, my heart breaks as Harvey never wanted this life as a supervillain and he wanted to becout his misery. I always hope there’s still good in Dent. 😢
Of course not, what do you think this is REAL LIFE? Thugs don't need to see you see them see you see them see you see them see you see them see you see them see you see them see you see them
I feel like when Two Face finds out about Bruce Wayne, he remembers Hugo Strange's comment on the hoth of them not being so different Batman then goes from the enemy he hates, to the rival he respects, Harvey even sympathises with Bruce about Good men not lasting long in Gotham, along with that "It's not the face you're born, it's the face you choose" line
Two-Face is definitely one of my favorite Batman Villains. And TBH: I agree with him it's all Batman's fault. All of it. And yet he still persecutes Harvey and thinks it's not his fault.
Now this is more like it where Batman takes on Two-Face in an actual boss battle (sort of) unlike that joke tutorial in Arkham City. As for Two Face's Thugs, i think the ones in Arkham City were better cause they were following the split theme just like Two-Face.
They should've had Dent fight with him a bit when you try to stealth-takedown him. A few QTEs even, just something to remind us that he's above average as a fighter
Watching Batman apologizing to Two-Face mad me think of something-Asylum was the swan-dive in, City was exploring the world on the other side of the surface, and Knight was the resurfacing that makes people feel all cold and uncomfortable. Now, is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Here's something I like and have noticed about about Two-Face especially in the Dark Knight trilogy is that his face after it got messed up he started looking like the Terminator whenever his skin burned off.
