Hey Batman Arkham Videos, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos. I have tried to watch other RU-vidrs play this game and none of them compare. Most were impatient and novice to VR. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a novice, but as a viewer watching it, it can get very frustrating at times. You have truly spoiled me as a viewer. You deserve all the subs you have. Keep up the great work, Batman 👍🏽😉
I’ve never seen anyone play Batman so flawlessly like this guy. Hell, I didn’t think others played that way UNTIL this guy. He has truly set the standard of how Batman should be played and not just played…BE as Batman
There's even comic, I think Prodigal arc, where Harvey manages to leave prison because they confuse him for Harvey Kent, which is also a funny reference to that.
@@jlev1028 I think it’s safe to say that Enigma became more notorious after Origins. Even if he wasn’t, it’s still a nod to him from the devs. Who else would have compulsive aenigmatomania?
It's sad to think those two doctors become so dangerous a few years later, one is reduced to a lackey for a man who doesn't care for her, and the other is a man who becomes a literal corpse of his former self, but I suppose that's how the story goes, I wonder if Bruce ever reflects on the fact he's met a good amount of his rogue gallery before their eventual turn. EDIT: I can see where everyone is coming with Crane, but I pictured more just how demented and unhinged he becomes, especially with how fairly normal (apart from the blood shot eyes) he looks, and picturing him in Arkham Knight.
@@blindbeholder9713 There's some truth to that - if Batman let Joker drop from the Royal back in Origins, then the original trilogy doesn't happen. But, as these prequel games show, most of the villains were already causing problems before they even met Batman. At this point we have Bane, Black Mask, Calendar Man, Catwoman, Firefly, Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Penguin, Ratcatcher, Ra's al Ghul, Riddler, and Scarecrow to say the least. Hugo Strange and Poison Ivy are mentioned, but their turns to villainy weren't Batman's fault. The only one who Batman might be responsible for is Joker, and even that's 50/50. As for Two-Face, well, we'll see.
I really like how this game fleshes out the Harleen side of the character and her endeavors as a psychologist. That aspect of her character tends to get forgotten in recent depictions
It's not subtle. He's the only one without a last name. He's the oldest in the prison, and Bruce is constantly thinking of his childhood. They could have least gavs him a nickname; have the prisoners refer to him as like 'the trader' or something or other, and then have Harley and Crane call him Joe in therapy.
I'd like to see them do a couple more Arkham Games set in the past. There's a lot of material they could cover and it will also give them time to figure out how to properly fix the mess WB made with SS:KTJL before making another game set after Arkham Knight.
I should have sang "And Batman Arkham Shadow will kick ass." when watching the 10th anniversary play through of Arkham Origins last Christmas on BAV. Not fitting the entire SS game's name to the tune of "And a partridge in a pear tree." when Joker is exploding the buildings.
To be fair, an adequate sandwich is better than that other game (although, it is amusing to ponder if the clone twist was always planned or it was hasty damage control).
All the boss fight set pieces are very well done. It's one thing to watch a video of it, but when in the headset this stuff feels like next level gaming. It's has blew my mind continuously as my playthrough goes.
Just goes to show that there are some cases that the World's Greatest Detective can't solve in a single night alone. Sometimes he has to play the long game, searching for leads over the course of multiple days and nights until he breaks the case.
That therapy session is so cool to see and just welldone in general. It shows how harleen is trying her best but is simply not competent and smart enough for the job, and Crane is much more capable and intelligent but gives close to no shit about his patients and is pretty much obsessed with his research. It's such a great interaction between the two, and to think they would later team-up against batman many years later... Also so interesting that Bruce got to see these two before they turned into the monsters they are.
Comisarry Joe is definitley Joe Chill. After he killed the Waynes and realised that he took someones parents, he started regretting it later in life which is why he asks Malone not to use violence (just my theory)
You're right on the money it's not even a theory but the arkham series' secrets or surprises especially for fan of the mythos are not that hard to peg. Remember Arkham knight how easy it was to figure out it was Jason. The only surprise was the clayface one in city. Or Ras being behind all of city.
Joe is the oldest prisoner and the only one with an obvious first name but no last name, and Bruce is constantly thinking of his childhood. There is absolutely no subtlety to who he is. They could have at least had a nickname the others call him, like 'the Wizard' or something, and then reveal his name is Joe in group therapy.
Devil's in the details, hence why I like all of the subtle and overt body language in the group session - particularly when "Malone" mentioned how his parents were gunned down in an alley, Joe uncomfortably turned away from the circle.
It's not subtle at all. Joe is the oldest here and the only with an obvious first name but no last name. And Bruce is constantly thinking of his childhood.
Like the dialogue 1:32:59 nice little call back to how when he was first created Harvey was called Harvey Kent which was then later changed to Harvey Dent by other writers
You guys know how hard it was to NOT watch any other content made by any other channels? The battle was hard but ultimately won. I’d much rather wait to see the content my GOAT 🐐 does.
The struggle is REAL. I usually hit TV tropes for spoilers, but I'm proud to.say I still don't know who the Rat King is for sure Edit: I Caved 😭 no spoilers though
It’s surprising to see that a VR game finally make it to a full fledged game instead of a short story game or a simulator game (excluding very few exceptions but even those still lean toward one of the two), leave it to an Arkham game to get that perfect landing on a big leap like that.
Excited to see the rest of your playthrough! You actually stop and show off every little nook and cranny in the game, which is really nice for people who don't have the Meta Quest 3S
Wow, I didn't think the game would be far from over. Other playthroughs I looked at on RU-vid search are generally 5-6 hours long. But then again, none of them have the level of dedication BAV has with exploring every part of the game. I mean, who else but him would call every available phone contact?
I wonder how Bolton feels after being beaten in front of the entire prison by newly arrived punk, without striking a single blow, and at the same time in an unequal battle.
Well, well, well. As I live and breathe. Doctor Jonathan Crane... And Doctor Harleen Quinzel. Today, the finest experts in psychological analytics. Tomorrow... Two of Gotham City's most dangerous supervillains.
Also, I like Lyle Bolton's character and bossfight as it seems like a more grounded take on his appearance in the comics. However, he gets too hammy a lot. It's like the voice director wanted him to act like Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin. Except that character only raised his voice occasionally, not all the time.
Please, don't spoil it for me since I'm just getting to the first Group Therapy session, but I guarantee that Joe is 'Joe Chill,' and I *cannot* *wait* for how this game tackles his interaction with 'Malone.'
I was worried too before realizing that he's playing on VR which is more than tapping buttons its engaging in physical activity I don't blame the man for needing a break. Seriously his last 2 videos were perfection no damage flawlessly executed.
@@baki484 i don’t think i’ve seen him take damage yet, and on his post thanking Camoflaj it sounded like he’s already beat the game. i assumed he already has all the footage but he could’ve been involved in the play test and this is his first official playthrough since launch. which would explain why he knows where everything and everyone is.
20:17. I remember the name Carl Draper from reading DC Comics as a kid; he was the true identity of a super-villain in Superman's Rogues Gallery known as "The Master Jailer". He used locks and restraints of his own design to try to defeat the Man of Steel.
This game is incredible. It's an actual fully fledged sequel to Arkham Origins with everything you'd expect from an Arkham game. If games like this and half life alyx were more common I'd buy VR in a heartbeat.
I just finished the game... Im intrigued for more... best vr story ever, not just a walking sim or free world with a few bits of lore... I need a Robert Pattison VR batman
I tried watching more about this game in others channels, but they lack quality, is way more worthy to watch here, but the wait is killing me. Great video, the quality and stability are top notch, the combat is like you trained for this.
Yeah I think in the trailer it originally was Batman vs Bolton and he used the shock gloves and said “ I’m done holding back “ wish we could’ve seen that fight still
Bolton, warden of the prison, top tough guy (next to Falcone), fights a new fish with no past gang affiliations and gets UTTERLY THRASHED WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING THE GUY. If he wasn't already crazy, that butt whooping would surely put him over the edge.
Please dont let us wait 3 DAYS again! Your Videos are so good that i dont want to watch the others, but then i really want to know how the game plays out and then i have to watch the others!
I like Walker. Walker's a cool guy. I can tell there's something I don't wanna know about him or that something's up or something is gonna happen later with him but yeah, pretty cool guy so far.
