FILM DESCRIPTION:
A young Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels to the Far East, where he's trained in the martial arts by Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson), a member of the mysterious League of Shadows. When Ducard reveals the League's true purpose -- the complete destruction of Gotham City -- Wayne returns to Gotham intent on cleaning up the city without resorting to murder. With the help of Alfred (Michael Caine), his loyal butler, and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), a tech expert at Wayne Enterprises, Batman is born.

One thing I think most people missed about Lucius is he sacrificed everything to do the right thing. Think about it. Why is a man this intelligent in the basement of Wayne Enterprise? Simple. He's there by choice. He could've quit Wayne after the death of Thomas and Martha and started working privately for anyone who would pay and be rolling in more money than he would know what to do with. But in the final movie, he reveals that he's been slowly consolidating his life's work to a smaller and smaller department where he could keep an eye on it and "keep it from falling into the wrong hands" (it's not his fault Bain found out Bruce's secret identity and stole the Tumblers). That's why we see him alone underground like this. He's been acting as a gatekeeper to keep his tech from hurting anyone. Ask yourself how many men in the world would work this hard and, not only refuse the wealth, but the prestige that comes with everyone knowing how smart you are. This is ultimately why Bruce puts him in charge of his family's company. Only a person of his character could be trusted with it.

0:39 such a damn good line, really nice callback to their first conversation and building on this current one. This is how proper comedy is written into an otherwise "dark and gritty, realistic," movie. The more I rewatch these, the more I realize how funny and hopeful they actually are.

Morgan Freeman is probably the most hard working actor in the US today. He is everywhere. Classic drama, romantic comedy and every other type of movie. He is just magic when he is on screen.

I love the backstory of the tumbler. This is one of the things you can't fully appreciate on the first watch. You just accept that Batman has this wicked black vehicle and don't question it. Its origin as a river jumping, bridge laying battle tank is something I've only fully realized today.

One thing i hate in the Nolan movies is how all the bat-gear alread exists, and even worst, nobody misses it when Bruce takes it. Are there no cameras in Wayne Enterprises ? And ok, the suit and the gadgets could be put inside a case or the trunk of a car, but does no one sees the tumblr in the News and thinks : " Hey, that military Jeep looks like something W.E would build for the army. The police should definitly go interrogate someone about their inventory."

@@Krexxal No, it isn't. The guy who put 2 and 2 togheter to find out about the batman isn't a tech engineer, he is an accountant. The only reason he realizes whats happening is because Lucius forces him to look for the money hole he left by giving Wayne Enterprises tech to batman without some good excuse for the toys to disapear. Nobody ever associates the tech with Wayne ever in the Nolan verse, and that is crazy for a "realistic" movie.

I mean RND was basically a Ghost Department and Fox spends his time making sure he has all control over it. So no. There isn’t anypne that would notice. And when someone does, as we see in TDK, they are wisely advised to stop noticing.

Nobody saw a tank living the W.E, even know it's literally in the comercial center of the City? And again, W.E makes millitary equipment, so where else woud a tank come from?

Wayne enterprises "Applied sciences/ R&D department is off the books" Which means nobody outside knows this department exists since it's closed due to Thomas Wayne death & the money used in this department is not shown in Wayne enterprises balance sheet, except for Earle who unfortunately doesn't know about Lucius fox inventions (who's doing it secretly) & Applied sciences is just a dept for creating hardware for military (which like I said was closed unofficially) Which is why Earle asking for information in batman begins to fox & fires him!

In the real life Tumbler, when you’re driving it and it’s under its own power, it’s way too loud to communicate with anyone. There’s a video here on RU-vid talking about how loud it is. The rear end transmission is a big part of that. The tires were supposedly 500 lbs each.
