* I think that Batman Begins will always be my favorite Batman movie, simply because of how well it was done. The story was brilliant. Everything fit together perfectly. They explained everything. It worked very well, and I had been waiting since I was a small child to see this story be told. I was never much of a comic book guru, so I didn't know Batman's backstory, until I saw this. Great movie. Very well done.

"Don't tell me you are afraid of bats" - Although in the early comics that was not an issue, over the time the figure of the bat came to be used as a recurring theme in the life of Bruce Wayne. Eventually, it became kind of poetic that he inspires in other fear with a symbol that frightened him too. "How do you have a teather like that with an exit to a street like that?" - Short aswer... it's Gotham. Long answer: the zone is nicknamed Crime Alley for a good reason. "If I had the same story like Bruce, I'd be traumatized for life" - Although he rose to be a hero (or antihero, depending on how you want to see him); Bruce Wayne's path to becoming Batman actually has an underlying truth not much people consider: he is still traumatized and will always be. Although it's mostly in the comics and other media, but Bruce Wayne's secret is that he sees himself mostly as Batman (that's his primary identity); Bruce, the child, died with his parents that night. "Another one, please!/Your father would be ashamed..." - I guess that last bit was even worse than a dozen slaps. And what he will just find in the restaurant. "And that's how he decided to become Batman" - Although I love this film, I like the more dramatic take the comic/film Batman: Year One does of the bat apparition XD. Maybe one day you should try the DC Animated Universe, if you haven't. "I am not an executioner" - Well, Bats considers "being an executioner" as "being the one who ultimately kills the criminal"; as long as they can live for the following day... any damage to the body is mostly ok (he doesn't execute them XD). "He didn't do any harm" - But two things in mind: the laws are not that forgiving with vigilantism and the GCPD mostly responds to the crime... so, yeah, for better or worse the cops are going after Batman. "Batman didn't damage property, nobody was hurt..." (three Doritos later) Batman explodes a wall, Batman crashes cars, Batman runs over roofs XD.- What we can say... he is Batman :P. Just kidding, because most of the time Batman's actions won't be so... clean to the city. You will see... you will see. "I believe I can drive..." - My God, I had to repeat that part twice XD. "Why do we fall...?"/Duaffy fighting back tears - Besides the action scenes, the jokes on his money, his traumas and all that stuff, I think that's what I like the most about Batman stories: how do you find the courage to go on when life seems to crush you. Notice to that it is knowledge of his father and Alfred... people Bruce has so far kept aside in his quest to define what he wants to do as Batman (he is a great stand alone figure... but his crusade won't be won just on his own). "You kiss him, you break up with him and now you hold hands?" - It's not that... strange; at least no to me. She loved the Bruce that left, the Bruce that grew up in Wayne Manor, the troubled guy who tried to be the playboy while dealing with his troubled mind with anger and revenge... But the guy that came back is not Bruce Wayne anymore, not the one she fell in love with. Batman is not Bruce Wayne; Bruce Wayne is the mask Batman will use to blend in the corrupted elite of the city to be functional, but underneath, his true acts, will be those of the vigilante that finally embraced darkness. And that's a completely different man she may not love ever; but... that doesn't mean she can't be her friend enough to hold hands... for old times. "Rah al Ghul" - Actually it's Ra's and it could be said literally like that (although the right pronunciation is something along the lines of "Reish"). Just a fun fact XD. And that would be all, it was fun to watch you react to what is one of the best adaptations of this character to film. See you in the next video.

@Hiraghm 3 года назад
@@DuaffyMS more trivia you probably don't care about but... "stick" is actually short for "stick-shift", a euphemism for manual transmission from back when we, too had mostly manual transmission cars. If the "stick" is on the steering wheel console, it's referred to as "three on the tree", and if it's set into the floorboards between the driver and passenger it's "four on the floor", due to the number of gears common with each type, respectively.

It's amazing how everyone I've ever seen react to this instantly recognizes 'Joffrey'. Hope he doesn't get typecast. Still my favorite comic book movie even after all of the MCU. As you said, Ra's al Ghul's way is the 'Knight Templar' solution, killing the innocent along with the guilty to deter crime. Bruce's route of compassion is the right way to go, even if it is much more difficult.

Despite the fact that what Batman is doing is good if a vigilante with military grade tech was running around the city it would raise some concerns and of course the police wouldn’t necessarily like it, so it makes sense why they would want to apprehend him.

He's got no one to hold him accountable for his actions, they don't know what his motives are, he could have set it all up to frame them, etc. Many reasons why, outside of nothing being able to stick, since he's not following the proper process, and nothing would actually hold up in a court.
@Dasharr
@Dasharr 3 года назад
@@Mr.Ekshin I'm not a lawyer, but as far as I know, under US law, it's only if cops themselves obtain evidence illegally that it's automatically inadmissible in court. If someone else does, it can still be valid as long as it's verifiably authentic. In real life it never happens Batman-style, but if stolen data proving criminal activity get leaked wikileaks-style (like a video, or a spreadsheet file proving fraud) it can still be used to convict. The Fourth Amendment limits what agents of the state may do to obtain laefully admissible evidence, but the Private Search Doctrine has established that if non-state actors uncover evidence of criminal activity themselves, state actors may - as long as they don't go beyond what was already revealed - recover this evidence lawfully without breach of the 4th. So Gotham PD would be within their rights to take the drug-stuffed-toys from the crime scene of Batman's attack as evidence. Falcone's legal defence would try to kick up a sh**storm about it though. However, Batman would 100% be on the hook for assault charges if he was caught. Stealthy takedowns aren't remotely justifiable as citizen's arrest or self-defence, and "I know they're baddies" isn't a lawful reason to attack them.
@Mr.Ekshin
@Mr.Ekshin 3 года назад
@@Dasharr - Yup... this goes the same for lots of superheroes. Spiderman basically beats people up and leaves them for police all bound up in webbing. As far as I remember, there's no packet of evidence in the web, or even a note saying what the person did. So basically, Spiderman would be wanted on dozens of counts of assault, battery, false imprisonment, and probably kidnapping.

I agree completely. It is overly accepted that Ledger's Joker is very much beloved by everyone, it brought extreme popularity and expectations to the trilogy, and is very iconic putting Nolan's Batman in the public's eye. But for me too, this is objectively the best of the 3 movies from a film making perspective, it is the one I can enjoy over and over.

@SirHilaryManfat 2 года назад
Not that unpopular. Batman Begins was the only movie out of Nolan's trilogy that kept the dark and seedy look of how Gotham was portrayed in the comic books. I love the other two movies, but Gotham just felt like a generic American city in them. Tim Burton's first Batman had that atmosphere, but it's a flawed and slightly campy film, so I feel that Batman Begins is as close to a perfect representation of how a Batman movie should be. The new one looks promising though!

Probably been said already by others, but regarding the police being upset about Batman attacking Falcone's gang: 1. Most obvious reason: many of the police were corrupt and working for Falcone instead of doing their actual jobs. 2. Better reason: having a private citizen going around attacking members of the public is usually a bad thing. They have no way of knowing Batman wouldn't attack innocent people, they can't take someone to court with their only evidence being "Batman says this person's guilty ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ", the very fact that Batman assaulted them and left them for the police could invalidate certain types of legitimate evidence that the police would've had from an actual investigation, it also places any undercover cops at risk of getting attacked by Batman for doing their job, and (perhaps too philosophical for most Gotham cops) recognizing the legitimacy of a private citizen to commit acts of violence against other private citizens undermines the authority of the government. TLDR: there are good reasons why the more realistic depictions of Batman tend to have him work closely with Gordon to support an actual police investigation for the "regular" criminals.

What I like best about Nolan's Batman Trilogy is how he researched the comics and put some of that information in his scripts. Ras Al Ghul initially introduces himself as Ducard, Henri Ducard. In the Batman comics he's a French private detective who trains Bruce Wayne in detective work and manhunting skills when Bruce is traveling the world gather skills to become Batman. Ducard, like Ras, knows Batman's real identity, so it was logical to combine both characters. In the comics Bruce is the cover Batman is the real person. Bruce is the drunken playboy with a different woman on each arm every time he's in public. Dr Crane is the villain Scarecrow in the comics who is psychologist. He doesn't commit crimes he is obsessed with human fear and uses his fear gas to study the effects it has on people.

5:35 that is exactly what hapeded to bruce, he got raumatized for life, and this is why in the comics he pick up robin, so that robin does not pass trough the same thing that him, bruce, passed trough.

The guy running Wayne Enterprises was super casual that Bruce Wayne is essentially back from the dead. "Oh, we thought you'd been brutally murdered. Good to see ya Bryce." "It's Bruce actually." Yeah whatevs. I don't need your entire life story, I've got your company to run."

Ironically the batmobile is an actually a real vehicle that's used for military applications. But their are three different models of it which they use all three on the films.

I was a Corrections Officer. Some states have different rules. Laws that allow bounty hunters in some States, will not protect a person in another State. He could be committing a felony by kidnapping these criminals against their will to deliver them to the police. I know some laws that should protect people get used against them in America... but these are the facts. You'realso right about Gotham having corruption on every level of the justices system. I developed my ideal of fairness from decades of comics.

It's been a while since this style took place. Superman in 1978 showed who he was, how, from where, and why. I might be forgetting some from the 80s and 90, but here in 2005 for a start, lots of movies went that way, and are great!. Daredevil hasn't had a good movie yet, but his series that started in 2015 is really good. Season one explains a lot. Daredevil seems more like Batman. He seems to "see" like a bat, or a dolphin with sonar-echo location. He'll get a good movie sometime...

That wasn’t a rock in the beginning. It was an arrowhead. I mean technically it was most likely a rock, but it’s what Native Americans used to tip their arrows with here in the US.
