Sorry for bothering you but I have a question, I got a little confused. Did the volume you bought (vol 2) includes "batman vs robin vol 2"? I hope you can help me with my question, thanks
I got volume 1 last Christmas. I got volume 2 this Christmas. When volume 3 drops next year, I'll be getting that for next Christmas. As a decades long lover of both Chaos Magic and Batman, an omnibus of Grant Morrison's run on Batman is my fucking Bible.
I love it Alex! I can’t wait for my preorder, soooo excited! I already have volume 1 and I definitely think this volume is way better, art wise. Thank you for your wonderful reviews! Keep ‘em coming! P.S. Can you review the Grayson Superspy Omnibus & the Super Sons Omnibus? You’ll definitely blow our minds with ‘em. Thank you!!!
They are still on my to buy list. I picked up Super sons in floppies and Grayson in trades. I need to give some other publishers some love. There’s a certain Marvel hardcover I want to read cover to cover and do a review on!
I simply can’t get enough of this videos! I absolutely love them, i already bought the 2 volumes and your videos really help me out to understanding this run and Final crisis! When it comes to comics reviews, you are THE BEST!
Thank you so much!! I hope you enjoyed Grant's run so far! Im tempted now to try out his X-men Omnibus but not sure how the community will react to that.
The Deluxe Edition At the end of the day it is your channel, i will supoort every you in the decision you make, i like Marvel as well, but DC for me has better stories, continue with the great Work, i’m sure everyone here will support you, there are no better comic reviews than yours!
Wow Alex you know how to make a collector feel they are making the right choice. My brother and I are buying this together. Beautiful video and production as always.
Hi Alex, great video as always. I’ll definitely want to get all these volumes. I don’t have the first one yet. Keep up your great work. I always so exited when I see a new video highlighted from you. All the best from Germany. Matt.
I do the same but would be a bit worried here in case it goes out of print... I doubt DC will reprint. For example, Im shocked that there isnt an Absolute Batman & Robin anymore.
Grant Morrison’s Batman is not only my favourite Batman run, it is in the top three comic book runs of all time. And this second omnibus is the highlight of his run. It is just so good. Read his entire series and find out what I mean.
Thanks so much for this! I’ll definitely have to pick up vol 1 and 2 of this ASAP. I’m loving all the extras in this volume too. Great video as always!
Great video, as always. One helpful suggestion, though, Aleks: you should wait to set the video as "Public" until the video quality is up to at least 1080p. Right now, when I go the notification for your video, the highest quality I can watch it is 360p. If you're like I am with my photos, you don't want people seeing stuff except in the quality at which you intended it to be viewed.
Thank you! Appreciate it!! I noticed the rendering goes to 1080p rather quickly within 5-10 minutes (4K is a while) but didn’t think many people use the notification bell and instantly watch my videos.
Thanks for an awesome overview once again. I'll be picking up this volume along with Blackest night next week. I've already got volume 1 and most (if not all) of the hardcovers that cover the whole series but It's nice to have the properly collected series over a few volumes. I'll probably sell on my hardcovers but I'll be keeping my two Absolutes. Keep up the great work.
Great review like always. Just waiting for my Vol. 2 to be delivered and can't wait for vol.3. Morrison's Batman is with out a doubt one of my favorite series.
Another great video. Love volume 1 and glad that volume 2 continues the quality. Unfortunately volume 3 is probably far off if it follows the pattern of the first two being a year apart...
Much like RIP some of it is also collected in the Final Crisis omni it seems. But I will buy it none the less. Thank you for your detailed reviews as always
I have ordered the two volumes begin this week, can't wait to start. I haven't read anything of the Morrison-run yet, but man am i looking forward to it. Definitely after having read your reviews, you know how to give us some appetite ;-)
@@TheDeluxeEdition I have received both omnibus a couple of days ago. And damned yes, these are quality releases. Almost no gutter loss, quality paper, great covers, really good printing and color quality ... I have doubted for a while whether or not i should get the individual paper backs or this, but i don't regret my decision at all. 90 euros for both omnibus, great price. Grant Morrison is just a compelling writer and Andy Kuberts art shines so well on those oversized pages. One evening of reading and already at page 120.
@@TheDeluxeEdition Alex I have a question, I got a little confused, which omnibus has the batman and robin vol 2? Thanks on advances and sorry for the inconvenience
@@darksilverx25 This second volume contains issues 1-16 of Batman & Robin. If you are after issues 17-25, thats not by Morrison but Cornell/Tomasi/Winick. Thats why it was never included in these volumes. As far as I remember these issues were only collected in a standard hardcover (Dark Knight vs White Knight).
Dropped the money on vol 2 as soon as it came out been waiting months for this book eversense I read the first one, final crisis and battle for the cowl.
I already have the deluxe hardcover of Batman and the Black Glove and the omnibus of Final Crisis. And I also have the deluxe hardcovers of the three Batman and Robin volumes and The Return of Bruce Wayne, so I'm thinking of skipping these two. I am however thinking of getting the third volume, as I only have the pre-New 52 Incorporated in Deluxe hardcover, and the New 52 Incorporated in regular sized hardcover. It WOULD be nice to own all three of these though...
3 volumes? What's gonna be included in the 3rd run? I thought this was the entire run lol, I'll totally buy it anyways, so long as it doesn't go out of print soon
Absolutely bud! And if your really like it , Scott snider's new 52 run is getting an omni and it takes place right after grant morrisons run. Grant morrisons run was how I started reading batman back in 09-10
Gracias por el video Alex, esta increíble! (como siempre). Has pensando hacer este tipo de videos pero de cómics que ya tienes en tu colección (en el estante trasero)? Estaría muy bueno. Saludos
Still need to finish reading my copy of Vol 1, but I'm also keenly aware I've never read The Black Casebook. Not buying Vol 2 until I'm ready, but I do have a question: are these omnibuses missing anything from Morrison's run? Is everything I need here? Normally you do your in depth comparisons of how to collect these same issues in different forms, but it's very quick here and I'm not certain.
It includes B&R/Batman 700-702 and the return of Bruce Wayne which is right upto Batman Inc and is in the right reading order. Volume 3 will be even more straight forward (possibly a very short video too). If you get all three Omnis you’ll get his complete run. Black casebook includes stories from Golden and Silver Age where you’ll get context but you won’t get anything NOT written by Morrison in any of these volumes.
@@TheDeluxeEdition thank you very much, man! (I should have made clear that I know Morrison didn't write any of the Black Casebook stuff, I'm just aware that those weird stories are some of the ones he drew the most influence from. A real shame its out of print)
So if i get the reading order right, i go with the Batman by Morrison Vol. 1 then the Final Crisis 10th Anniversary omnibus, and then continue with Batman by Morrison Vol. 2
Only if you want to completely understand how Final Crisis affected the entire DCU. I wouldn’t say it’s compulsory reading to enjoy Morrison’s Batman run.
Dion Z I’m not the biggest Morrison fan, but I find his Batman to be very well done, especially when taken in its entire context. Reading it in this format should make it even better. If you’re on the fence, jump in!
