I dont know man, they needed someone to make failsafe without batman knowing and if regular batman made him he would know about it so they used the zurrehah batman for it while also giving us a tiny bit of fanservice. It also sets a clear distinction between the tree batmans (normal, zurrehah and failsafe). Normal cares and loves, zurrehah doesnt care and just wants to BE batman, failsafe doesnt care and wants to KILL batman.

@bastiat ...I've been collecting & reading comics for 40+ years. Don't tell me what I don't know when you don't know me. There are a lot of good Batman stories out there & Knightfall was one of them. If you don't like Failsafe, that's your prerogative. The story was proof of what Superman said about him. That's it. Get over yourself.

Keep in mind Ra's AL Ghul knows Batman well enough to take him out; he already have people & plans in place to do this should the time comes.

When Batman is in trouble and Alfred is not there, Superman is typically the next in line to save his ass. It happen here. It happen in DCAU. It happen in Zack Snyder JLU.

thats a typical batman issue overall: he stops crime on the moment, but he does little to stop it long term, mainly because of his "no kill" policy leading to criminals and villains just getting out of jail over and over because he is unwilling to take a step further.

@@thorveim1174 No. His job is not to punish the villains, it is to catch them for the justice system to (fail to) punish them. The villains coming back over and over is squarely on the shoulders of the courts and penal system. He does not even allow himself the privilege of lethal force that police officers are allowed, with all its restrictions under law, because Batman acts outside the law. Batman knows nobody else is going to stop him, so he stops himself. The no killing rule is the reason Batman is a hero instead of a serial killer.

Their memories, thoughts, and opinions are exclusive and unreadable by each other. It is a traumatized brain escaping it's trauma by creating a new person within itself that lacks the trauma of the original personality. So technically, yes, you could try to create a mental fail-safe in the form of a second personality completely separate from your own original consciousness, just be aware that you cannot control or influence who it will become or even know if it became a fail-safe like you wanted it to be, it might just be an aspiring accountant or something. It would also require you to intentionally seek out very specific forms of mental trauma until your brain starts splintering it's consciousness into new people. It may also never stop creating new personalities. You also cannot ever get rid of them. And you can't control when they take control of your body and ability to create memories. It is not very desirable.
