What’s actually ridiculous about this isn’t all of Bruce’s contingency plans, but that the Joker could mind control all of the Justice League. That’s just unbelievable, they really put Joker over in this scenario. Almost any member would be near impossible for him to get to.

And this is exactly why Batman has contingency plans

It never stops being funny that for how absolutely broken the Flash is, his weakness is still slip and slides.

It's super interesting that it doesn't matter how overpowered the Flash is supposed to be- he can move in time and change it, think at relativistic speeds, manipulate kinetic energy to deliver hits with the mass of the earth (or more) and whatever bs the writer in turn wants him to do, to the point that his powers are no longer about speed but subatomic manipulation, YET he can still be casually defeated by any opponent making him slip.

One thing I've always loved is how Wonder Woman is the one league member that batman can never actually fight. She's nearly as powerful as Superman, is a better fighter than batman, and has no obvious weaknesses like kryptonite. His only option has always been to just redirect her attention at something else, like fighting Cheetah endlessly in her mind.

The cartoon network justice league show always get a rewatch every few years from me. I think it is time, Lex Luthor and Batman are the best thing to have happened to the DC universe. Its terrible that the cinematic representations never pan out properly, it needs the touch of a lover and a consumer of the general entertainment medium, not a major film maker; it also needs humble artists that are able to put the professionalism on.

Batman’s Plot armor in action because when three people who know how dangerous you are don’t snap your neck despite being faster than light or at the very least move too fast for even someone with 10 times the normal reflexes can achieve, it is because the authors or plot armor says so.

Batman has a contingency plan for each member of the Justice League, including himself. But he's also Batman after all, so he must have prepared a plan against his contingency plan, and a contingency plan against his anti-contingency plan. So, the real contingency plan for Batman would be to trap him in the contingency plan creation neverending loop, so he's too busy to do anything else.

I've heard some people suggest Batman's contingency plans against his friends and teammates is a betrayal. But, given the risk of what they could ALL so easily become... how could any of them be so reckless as to NOT plan for the worst case scenario?

I like this one, the contingency plans worked out in a less than convoluted way and the suit housed it all, as a way better suit than Bruce used against Superman when Bruse was over the hill and Green Arrow was near by.

Even so, let’s be completely honest. Superman was heavily nerf and could have killed batman even nerf. There were multiple scenes in this comic that show how superman could have killed batman. I don’t like Superman, he is honestly a merry-sue in my opinion. But you can’t deny he is stronger than Batman, no matter the prep-time.

They actually have a Less than leathal crowd control weapon that's a almost 0 friction liquid but they found out it was much more dangerous than what they thought when it was used, the people who tried to stand up could not and almost broke everyone's spin and shattered their skulls.

You know, having the Joker control the Justice League actually makes this story more believable. I can well imagine each member of the Justice League subconsciously fighting back against the Joker's control. That inner fight would make them less focused, less disciplined in the fight with Batman, giving Batman some opportunities to take them out. A really determined Justice League should be able to take out Batman, probably after some difficulty.

This is a pretty good example of why Batman, slowly but steadily, is declining in my opinion. The Idea of Batman is that a man, if dedicated enough, can become more than the sum of his parts. Bruce has trained himself in everything imaginable, always trying to push his own limits to be something greater. And I think that is a very compelling story. It does not matter if he is a billionaire or what his motives are, that drive to excel and protect others is something we can all relate to and cheer on! But it has become a tired trope that Batman always wins. And I do not mean in a "Well the hero wins of course" way but rather in a "Batman is the best" way. Batman cannot lose. Batman can beat everybody and everything. Superman? No problem. Wonder Woman? Pff, you wish. The entire Justice League? Not a sweat. There is this idea that Batman is always prepared, that he always planned ahead. If you really think about it, even in a comic book universe?.. That is kinda stupid. One of my favorite takes on that idea comes ironically from Bruce himself. As he put it: "You cannot plan for everything. But what you can do is prepare yourself for all kinds of situations. And then learn to combine what you learned and what you can do to succeed." In essence: You do not win because you have a plan for everything, but rather because you're taught and learned so much that once presented with something you could not plan for, you can improvise effectively. And if you think about that, this "Jack of All Trades" idea is far, far better as a story tool and of course as an actual "plan" to combat things. Again, as Bruce put it: "I do not have to bet as good of an archer as Oliver Queen. All I have to be is good enough". For me, that makes Bruce much, much more realistic, and much cooler! He divides his attention, not bothering to master a skill that he does not need. Why does he need to be able to shoot arrows like the Green Arrow? Does he need to be as good a fighter as Lady Shiva? Must his detective skills be on par with the elongated Man? No. But if he takes all of what they can do, just maxes it to his ability, and then puts it together, magic happens. But these days? "Oh, Batman has learned a secret technique that allows him to not breath for an hour while doing backflips, and thus he can beat the evil No-Oxygen-Man". What a load. Hence, why it's so boring to see Batman fight the JLA. Where is the tension? Over years and years, we have now established that it does not matter who you are, God or Kryptonian, Darkseid, or a literal SUPERUNIVERSAL BEING. Batman has a plan and he will beat you. Just like that. He can just pull some device, some skill, some weird plan he conceived once and of course, it works perfectly. Batman has always worked best when you put him in the streets of Gotham, navigating the filth and darkness, taking care of the little person. But now he is going to space, fist-fighting Darkseid or beating up Wonder Woman and Superman. How does that even begin to make sense? Now you might say: "Yeah, well, how could he be a member of the JL if he cannot do that?" For that, I point you to the animated Series. In the animated series, Bruce never left the realm of the humanly possible. But he was shown to be resourceful, smart, and a great strategist. To put it simply: He had a role. He would coordinate attacks, find weak points and then direct others, heavier hitters than him, to victory. He was in a sense the man in the chair. One of my favorite examples of this is when the entire JLA fights robot spiders that seemingly destroy everything. Batman is shot down and is losing altitude fast, his parachute and ejection seat malfunctioning. What does he do? He phones the other league members and requests somebody who can fly to save him from certain doom. At no point we are told that Batman has of course planned to be taken down by robot spiders who also destroy his only means of landing safely and thus has a super jetpack that can shoot laser beams. No, he simply relies on the people he knows will be there and stays calm. Because he knows Clark or Diana will catch him. It humanizes him. It gives him limits. A story cannot be interesting if the character has no bounds, no limits. I long for the days when the Joker was the height of what Batman fights. Now he is the literal center of the multiverse. Batman Metal was essentially a story about how Batman is the most important being in existence. How is that even remotely interesting? Now, before you say: "But Superman". Superman's boundaries are not set by his powers, but by his characters: What can he do, what would be too much? What is the right course with powers like him? It's a philosophical thing rather than a physical or mental one. I really, really hope DC understands this again. I do not want to see Batman fight a robot that is better than him, be thrown out of space, and land without a scratch only to beat up said Robot. That is boring. I want to see stuff that we saw in "The Batman" movie. Batman fights crime on the streets, being a detective, being The Dark Knight. The protector of Gotham City. And not choke out Darkseid with a leg hold. Edit: Because I just realized this, I did not even catch it because this comic is this stupid.. But Batman looked at Superman, a man who can run faster than the speed of sound, is invulnerable, has heat vision, every super sense under the sun, and on top of all that is also probably the most physically capable person on the planet... And his plan was, "I make gum". That... I mean, do we even have to dissect this? His plan against the most powerful being on the planet, a being that could put his fist through his head at Mach 4... IS KRYPTONITE GUM. I mean, there is plot armor and then there IS KRYPTONITE GUM. Jesus Christ. The ways this is stupid are mind-blowing. I mean just think about this: If he has miniature red suns in his battle armor... WHY NOT JUST USE THE KRYPTONITE. It was literally written so Batman could flex on Superman. It is the second most contrived "I AM BATMAN" plot armor idiocy I have ever seen. A story literally constructed around the idea that Batman can beat Superman.. WITH A PIECE OF GUM.
