I had a nightmare after seeing part 1 cliff hanger. "Horror, One Lemon, Double Horrors, 2 Lemons, and if there's a third, inescapable 50,000 volts". Creepy very creepy!
This is one time where it looked like Batman wasn't going to be able to get out of this trap! He was spared by the blackout and saved by 2 police officers- very different escape from all of their other traps they've been in.
Oh yes. At 4:05: Police officer: "Holy smoke!" Batman: "QUICK OFFICERS! CUT US OUT OF HERE BEFORE THE POWER COMES ON!" Robin: "OR THAT'S WHAT WE WILL BE -- JUST HOLY SMOKES!"
This was early on, and the third double deathtrap of the series. The first being Mr Freeze's gun where the police saved them yet again and Riddler's wheel trap.
If that slot machine did get 3 liberty bells which would've won their freedom and $50,000 cash,Batman & Robin would surely have that money donated to charity.
This two-part episode would had been even better if Batgirl had been captured along with Batman and Robin. Just imagine Batgirl resting her head on Batman's shoulder and Robin resting his head on Batgirl's shoulder when they are overtaken by the knockout gas. When the three of them are strapped to electric chairs inside the truck, Batgirl could had said, "I don't trust you, Joker!" before Batman said, "I don't approve of gambling". But this episode was done before Batgirl was added to the show.
@@pronkb000 Why would a high school classmate of Robin want to kill him? Indeed, that gadget of the Joker's didn't disguise his voice at all; Batman and Robin should have recognized him immediately.
That trick microphone sure doesn't do a good job of disguising the Joker's voice. Not that it would matter with him using all those Joker-esque insults.
I loved when they were in the semi and Suzy says to joker O'what a Ball was she talking about jokers private parts when the gambling machine was running!!! Suzy met her master a real man (joker)...instead of high school jock what she wasn't interested in any of them young boys!!!
I find it weird that nobody's commented on Joker's explanation for the van- that the novelty company basically built an execution van for a "whimsical Caribbean dictator" before he was deposed and held onto it until their bankruptcy. The Dozierverse can be pretty dark in some places.
The thing was, when they were both in the electric chairs in the Prison with Ma Parker, they escaped the chairs fairly quickly.. after she thru the switch.
On the Ma Parker episode, the duo were in electric chairs, and Ma, and the boys were going to rob the bank. How Batman and Robin got out. was the pretty daughter was never in any robberies because Ma wanted to be with her boys. As. Batman told her, she would up stage Ma. So Ma's daughter loosened the straps so Batman and Robin could escape the chairs, and surprise.the gang.Batman used female jealousy as a weapon.against Ma through the daughter.in order to escape. 60's Batman knew everything !!!!.
love this "OH Knockout gas"! when I was 8 we had a sixties coke machine and I would wear my 80"s shorts and cape I always loved showing off my legs. the babysitter would play and carry me to nearby couch I called it the coke machine game by the end the machine and me were humming! another game called "Good Vibrations" but that was with the guidance couloirs
In his very early appearances Batman actually does use guns on occasion, but it was quickly established that he won't use them. (In the first 1964 story after Julius Schwartz takes over the title--the debut of the yellow-bat insignia--he actually does pick up a criminal's gun to hold a gang at bay, but this was just an admitted screwup by the new editor.)
Since Batman and Robin are frequently knocked out, I'm wondering why the dynamic duo don't suffer permanent brain damage or show signs of stroke or early onset Alzheimer's Disease?
@The Darkman Curly and Shemp Howard, plus Larry Fine all suffered strokes from repeated head boos by Moe. In Shemp's case, his was a minor stroke, and he recovered with no effects. Larry's stroke put an end to his career as well as permanently ending the Three Stooges, even though Moe tried his best to keep the act going by using Emil Sitka in Larry's place, made up to look like him. Curly also took a lot of bops to the head, but I feel the stroke that ended his career was alcohol induced, seeing as how he was a heavy drinker.
Yes, they DID survive John -- Batman and Robin were saved by a WELL-TIMED POWER FAILURE, just as the third lemon appeared! I'm very surprised Robin didn't say "Holy Blackout!" :D
He had more time then--Ma was waiting until midnight to throw the switch so as not to draw attention with a disruption of the power grid. That gave Batman enough time to make contact with Alfred and get the power shut off exactly at midnight.
hmm... should i kill them now, or wait and play on the slot machine!? hey! lets go! lets escape on foot, instead of leaving in that truck! i never understand jokers logic...
Robin leans on batman and batman rests his head on the machine. No wonder the media back then thought they were in a gay relationship. Not that I have anything against same sex relationships .
this scene and show was so homoerotic and kinky! imagine if mike henry was batman as what was supposed to have happen?! seeing henry's body, his dark features as batman with twink boy wonder in these scenes! or if they would have cast steve reeves (40 in 1966) as bruce wayne/batman seeing him in that batman outfit and those incredible piercing baby blues under the cowl! or clint walker a mountain of incredible built masculinity as batman with the boy wonder in all of this shows' kinky scenes!
