The Dark Knight was the first movie to ever make me fear what was going to happen next. The scenes where The Joker kills the black mob boss, when he's heckling Rachel, and the whole ferry scene. Best movie I'd ever seen.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is such a favourite of mine. Easily my favourite Batman film and favourite take on his origin story.

Everything I love about Batman can be summed up in one game: "Arkham City". By far the best Batman experience I've ever had. I grew up with the animated series and Nolan's films took him in a direction he needed to go on the big screen but "Arkham City" took elements from both and brought the Batman story to a level of entertainment that remains unparalled in my eyes (keep in mind I still haven't seen 'TDKR' yet).

Batman Returns is my favourite. I love the dark, gothic tone of it, and Danny DeVito was amazing. The way Christian Bale spoke as Batman just annoyed me.

@theFLICKpick. Regarding your question at the end, the reason I love batman is that I love the representation of the idea fleshed out in a simulated world. Certain superheroes pique my interest because of the ideas they represent. Batman represents a controlled rage out to create justice while battling with inner desires for revenge. The situations that test his moral fiber and the character of the Joker really contrast the ideas of anarchy and order/justice. I could go on but i'm out of chara

I still remember when my dad brought home the VHS Batman from 1989 and I too watched it everyday for at least a year straight, a part of me has loved every single batman movie (not so much for Batman and Robin), and it is what makes me soooo pumped for TDKR, but also sad because I know once I watch it it'll be the last batman movie we get for years...

there is only one hero that i love to the core with whom i am obsessed so much, Batman so dark and complex character with tragic but so emotional and powerful origins that made a boy into a man who seeks vengeance to restore purpose to his life. person that sacrifices everything for the welfare of his city by putting his life on the line every day. that is his curse and why i love him so much isnt his suit, gadgets, the wealth or women its his personality which is cold, strict, dark, brooding, brash and angry man who only wants to see his parents one more time. my favorite moments are when batman is on the top of the building or on a gargoyle watching over gotham with his cape floating, that is so epic. my favorite batman was christian bale who i miss in this role so much but i hope ben affleck will do him justice he deserves. batman is the greatest creation in history. period! great reviews

Haha, great vid, John! I love Batman! He's probably my 2nd favorite superhero next to Spider-Man. I love the fact that he's just a normal guy (well, without powers) in an awesome suit, and that he has lots of training to fight and whatnot. And my favorite Batman films are EASILY Batman Begins, The Dark Knight (my favorite as of now), and Mask of the Phantasm (which you didn't review, haha). Those movies NAILED the character. Though I do love some cheesy 60s Batman.

I grew up with the Burton's Batman movies, the first was freakin badass, with that epic soundtrack by Danny Elfman. Now i have to admit my favourite Batman movies are the one with the Joker, "Batman 1989" and "The dark knight". "Returns", "Begins" and "Rises" are very good, but the ones with the Joker as the villain, are the best. Batman find his true nature against that purple dressed thug. I'm really looking forward to the new Batman/Batfleck solo movie, which i think will be with the Joker as the main villain. (I hope they keep Elfman for the soundtrack, too)

the biggest reasons i liked batman is the fact after taking out some of the villains he always has that problem on his shoulders that he still feels bad after his parents death and he doesn't like having alleys work with him just like in Batman Forever.

batman is just pure badass...I wanna see that version of batman that sticks to the shadows ..that uses that unpredictability..the vanishing in the middle of convos ....the darkness ...use fear as his weapon ...oh geez that attitude that rude badass attitude that only batman has...Nolan's batman was the closest thing to it thus far ...

I like all the batman movies except for the Joel shumocker movies. I think batman is a really cool character but my favorite superhero is Spider-Man has been and always will be. I love Spider-Man because I can relate to him (well I guess everyone does) but in away where everything that happened in Peter Parker's life happened to me. I've lost people I love and so many other things. But anyway I grew up watching the Sam ramie spider-man movies and enjoyed them as a kid and I still do. Spider-Man (2002) - A- ( this was the very first Spider-Man movie ever made and it's done really well to, while it has it's flaws like how there are no web shooters and the CGI is a little out of date it's still an awesome movie. Tobey was pretty good as Spidey/Peter, Willem Dafoe nailed the Green Goblin my favorite spider-man villian, and J.K.Simmons he is J.J. Jamson) Spider-Man 2 (2004)- A ( This movie went bigger and better than the first movie. This movie had a better story, BA Action scenes (Ock vs. Spidey train scene) and Doc Ock in this movie was perfect.) Spider-Man 3 (2007) - C+ ( This spider-man movie to me was ok it wasn't bad and I don't hate it, it's just ok. It's ok because the first half of this movie was really well done I thought sandman was a very interesting character, Harry Osborn as the 2nd Green Goblin was AWESOME. Then we get into the 2nd half of the movie where everything got worse. Venom was messed up, that stupid dance scene, and yeah lets just get to the 2012 reboot.) Now when I first heard they were going to reboot Spider-man I was mad but also very excited at the same time and when I went to go see The Amazing Spider-Man in theaters I thought it was really good. It had a different feel of Spider-Man that really interested me. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)- A- ( I give this film a high rating because to me Andrew Garfield is my favorite Spider-Man right now it might change when I see Marvel's Spider-Man reboot but i'll get to that later. Andrew to me is my Spider-Man to me and I when I saw this trailer in the theater my seat was sold for that day. It's also very exciting that we had a much stronger spider-man villian than we had before and that was The Lizzard. Now the Lizard in this movie was an ok villian but they messed up his whole character because Dr. Curtis Conners has a wife and a boy and you don't see them at all in this film and kinda disappointed me. But overall awesome film.) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)- B- ( After seeing all of the epic trailers for this movie I thought this was going to be my favorite movie of 2014 and my favorite spider-man movie......Nope. This movie was so disappointing it didn't lead up to my expectations to spider-man to much but to be honest with you I kinda liked it. I mean it's not a horrible movie but it's still a fun time. You have the most BA shots of ACTION with spider-man swinging you've never seen before and it's mind blowing. It's evening more mind blowing when I saw it in the theater and it was incredible. Andrew still an awesome spider-man and peter and Gwen's relationship is really cute in this movie. You really feel that they are in love and that is what your supposed to feel. Jamie Fox as Electro was Awesome to me in my opinion he blew me away with that preformence. Dane Dehan as harry osborn and the Green Goblin was pretty good I actually thought the Green Goblin in this movie was pretty solid. When he first laughed it gave me goosebumps and I was like oh crap here we go. The Rhino........ was not necessary. Overall great action it's a pretty fun time and i'll watch all of the spider-man movies any day of the week if I had to. So yeah those are just my opinions on all of the Spider-Man movies over the years) and yeah thanks for reading this if you read this really long thing thanks for sticking around ha see what i did there. It's a crying shame that Chris Nolan's trilogy has come to an end. Truly the best set of Batman films ever made, and show the messages of the Batman franchise perfectly. Hard act for the Superman vs. Batman movie to follow!

He wasn't dumb in the trilogy, he was just careless and didn't do enough detective work. Bane, in Rises, was going up against an older Batman who was inactive for 8 years. It's also a reference to Miller's TDKR where he faced the mutant leader and got beat up.

Hey man, havent you seen the batman film from the 60s or whatever with Adam West as Batman, that film was great. All the villians on a submarine together, hahah. Youd better go find that on blu ray if you havent already.

Everyone I talk to about The Dark Knight is like "Well why didn't they blame Harvey Dent's death on the Joker?" Well that's because Batman went and stopped him with the boats first. He was left hanging there and got arrested so there is no way that Joker could've been blamed, because he was to busy getting arrested.

two different approaches... each one great at their own movies... I remember when the first burton batman movie came out, it feels as dark and badass at 1989 as batman begins at 2005. nicolson's performance was fucking unbelieveble at that time and becomes iconic, and everybody thought that nobody will play the joker again bcuz of his performance. then in 2005 ledger blows everyones mind with his performance... so... each one had their own time, both awesome and iconic at their own way and time

in TDK it goes Bale, Caine, Oldman and then Ledger In Batman 89 it goes Nicholson, Keaton. For example the audience remembers and focuses on the shark in jaws but Sheriff Brody is the main character..The biggest and 'loudest' threat have captured our attention..Well that's the same with the TDK..The joker is that kind of threat.

i always liked batsy since k was like 5/6 years old but then i saw batman the animated series i fall in love with the caracther what can i say? really .his values, his inspiration, his motivation,hus generosity. besides the series is a masterpiece. the joker(mark hamill) what a voice. heck harley quinn.two face,the penguin,scarecrow etc.anyway NANANA BATMAN!!!(8)

this is awesome, i relate to this video on so many levels, it's crazy. i think batman might be the only superhero that warrants this kind of fandom. kevin smith put it once, there are two camps of batman fans - those who just like the character and think he's bad ass, and those who think "aw man, it would be so nice to actually be batman." i think there's a lot more in the obsessive latter camp than you might think! :)

I agree Nolan has made the Batman movies i was waiting my whole life to see. When the theater goes dark at 12:01 friday it will be the most bittersweet feeling knowing we are seeing the last Nolan/Bale Batman movie.

Batman was my first superhero (Animated Series) and something about that toon just made the character stick with me. My favorite Live Action Batman movie is Begins, Knight became way to over the top popular and that killed it for me. For the toon movies it would probably be a tie between 'Rise of the Joker' and 'Under the Redhood'

dude whats not to love about batman. i mean hes the greatest detective, he has killer gadgets that are used in real life today, and i love how hes just the shadow vigilante that we can look up too and fear at the same time. well if your a criminal you would fear him. kind of like that scene in the dark knight, when the bat signal is up and the sketchy criminal guy is like "nah man not tonight" hes just awesome!!!

It doesn't matter who's in a scene...A villain usually kicks off a movie..It's the norm..The starting scene is the story setting up the Villain as Batman has already been established ..The joker in TDK is a catalyst...He needs to turn up to start the chaos..The whole movie has the joker in it but it's not a movie about him...He has no origin story..Is not the main focus..He's random and is peppered throughout..It's about Batman's Morals/Logic being tested...The joker sets up the traps for Batman
