Notice that Batgirl has her belt around her hips and not her waist. Julie Newmar changed her original Catwoman belt to look that way, and the film crew liked the look so much, they did the same for the Batgirl costume.
Another reason and this from Yvonne Craig herself. "In one early episode I was in, I carried a weapon of some kind and there was no way to attach it to the side of my belt. My belt was too tight. It was also uncomfortable when we had fight scenes. I had the idea to put it behind my back on the belt behind my cape. With it still too high, I unbuckeled it too hang low so I could reach it. When I saw the episode, I waited to see how it looked. I couldn't stop laughing. It looked like I pulled it out of my behind." This was a video, many of which she'd done, a couple of years before she passed. But it also captured the look of the Catwoman costume.
The innuendo was a constant. Enough so that video posters here are having to edit, which says a lot because such things in the 60's was quite tame by our standards, today.
I very much appreciate the wholesome quality of this show, so don't hate me for saying this....but I did notice that at exactly 4:50, Robin did cop a feel of Batgirl. Looks like Batman was right when he said, "That single statement indicates to me the first oncoming thrust of manhood ole chum." (at 4:07)
The producers of the show ironically had to keep Robin’s manhood under control. They practically forced him to temporarily shrink his penis size by taking pills. They didn’t want his tight costume to show his full bat-sausage.
Adam West said he hated filming this 3rd season. The budget had been "cut to the bone" and the writing was lousy and the plots silly. ABC/Greenwood presented the ideal to Mr. West of going on with the 4th season but only if Robin, Chief O'Hara and Mrs. Cooper were cut from the show. He refused and the show was canceled

That line was take 16 or so. Adam West intentionally blew the correct line 15-20 times to frustrate the director to the point, that no matter what he said, they would have to take that line, just to get to the next scene. ha ha ha Look for the live commentary about it with Adam West and Burt Ward on RU-vid!! Hilarious with them telling that scene story.
I remember seeing this as a little kid! Then when I played with my Batman action figure, I cut out the cardboard of the package it came in with a picture of Batman to play this episode and use that as his flat self!
I love how Batgirl is so clueless in the batcave, she's like a little tag-along more than a member. Also, Robin should be thankful they have batgirl because now he doesn't look so short!
@@colinp2238 In this one Barbara was smart enough to have a different daytime hairstyle. She wears a wig for the costume. So strange Gordon doesn't recognize her voice. And think of Robin. He only has a domino mask and DOESN'T change his hair. How does Gordon not recognize him as Dick?
@@jlo9505 Just think how well your parents know you. It's not as if the Gordon's are estranged. Hair colour is not so important but shape of face etc is not covered by a mask over your eyes.

Either his Lap, or Bat-Pole! It would take great effort not to peek under her mask. But it would take God like power not to peek under her uniform. LOL! (Poor Robin)
Never understood why Bruce and Dick never let Barbara know who they were actually wear as they was all on the same side. She could have gone to live with them and they could have had a Batcave for the three of them.
My favorite episode of season 3 is the one with King Tut when both Bruce Wayne and Batman (inside of the Batmobile) appear next to each other to prove to King Tut that they were not the same person!
The terrific trio were lucky that Dr. Cassandra,her henchman and those 6 super-criminals that they helped escape from prison didn't think of trying to unmask the heroes during the fight at Dr. cassandra's hideout. It was funny that the criminals punched each other in the dark to become visible after knocking each other out.
Wow- really chopped these scenes up and left out some good parts. Chief O'Hara being the one to figure out the solution to the cliffhanger - that was the only time THAT happened!
At The End After The Fight When Batman And Robin, And Batgirl Have Seemingly Knocked Out All Of Thd Arch Enemies And They Are Laying On The Floor Unconscious, I Dont See Catwoman Laying Among Them, Seems That Catwoman Must Have Escaped Yes Yes Yes, I Know That It Wasnt Julie Newmar Playing Catwoman That Time In That Episode But It Was Her Stand In Double Marilyn Watson, Who Played Catwoman But I Loved Catwoman And Am.Glad That She Got Away!
I can see why ratings took a bad nosedive in season 3, they did away with the cliffhangers. But it didn't always have to revolve around that, they still could've found a way to work around that, just like they did a three-episode-arc about Lord Ffogg and Lady Peasoup. Okay, they left everyone wondering "what's going to happen next?" but not as intense as seasons 1 and 2. Anyway however, I LOVE Yvonne Craig when she was added to the show, BOTH in and out of that batsuit, whether as a natural brunette or as a redhead. Hotter than Catwoman 🙄🙄🙄 Too bad the Green Hornet and Kato weren't around, could've rounded it out like Superfriends or Justice League 😁
There was also 2 3-episode arcs during Batman's 2nd season. The 1st with Batman & Robin fighting The Joker & The Penguin,then the 2nd featuring the Penguin & Marsha,Queen of Diamonds.
It would've been a super-cool way to wrap up the series, especially since Dr. Cassandra and Cabala had gathered up all of Batman's top adversaries, ready to take over Gotham City. Even though that was already done in the 1966 movie, but without King Tut and Egghead, still a super-cool way to wrap up the series, though 😕
Personally, although I loved the "Batman" TV series very much, I felt that the Third Season was such a downer. Even according to Adam West in his autobiography, it was a season that he did not get to enjoy. Aside from that, I was disappointed in not seeing "Batgirl" into doing better in fight scenes like what "Batman and Robin" did throughout the series as well. Furthermore, I kind of liked the villains that were created for the series other than "The Joker," "Penguin," "The Riddler," and "Catwoman," too.

Cousin Cam Clarke is a successful voice over artist most famous for voicing the characters of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". His uncle Buddy Cole played the organ wedding march for the 1965 film "The Sound of Music". Very talented family indeed!
No joke, it was originally scripted as ronald rays and be shot through a Ronald Ray-gun... the producers thought it was too on-the-nose and the writer substituted an Alvino Rey reference instead :)
It seemed to me the return of Julie Newmar, or a possible new actress, is that at the time, Eartha Kitt was heavily criticized for racism, and decided to leave in her last episode of this third season, if there was a season 4, Julie Newmar would return.
"The Entrancing Dr. Cassandra" with Ida Lupino was the next to last episode ("Minerva, Mayhem and Millionaires" with Zsa Zsa Gabor was the last). Her springing Gotham City's most famous arch criminals was a plot device to have all the big-name villains together one last time to "take a bow," so they figured they may as well bring back Julie for the occasion.
Ida Lupino was a good villain, unlike most of the other season 3 ones. They could have had a lot of fun with her mad scientist stuff if the show hadn't been cancelled.
This would have been an awesome way for the series to end if all 6 of these criminals would have actually appeared. Notice they're sitting with their backs to us and their faces are never really seen because these are not the actual actors!
This episode still should’ve been the finale, Batgirl finally entered the Batcave, and all six criminals were there, and it ended with her no running away after a bat-fight, and there was a final shot of Batman at the end. This would’ve been a satisfying season finale compared to the actual one, which was the next episode.
