They're not fighting Lex in this movie. This is just setting up Lex Luthor, probably for the Justice League movie. I believe they put Lex in this trailer to throw people off about who the actual villain is. Rumor has it, it's Doomsday.

Choosing Jesse Eisenberg was such a great casting choice. Ben Affleck too. Look at the way he expresses all that rage with just his eyes and the tension in his muscles. That's amazing to me. These are two extremely versatile actors who always give whatever character they portray a life of their own. They were beautifully casted. But honestly, more than anything, what I ESPECIALLY love about what DC is doing with these films, is how (it seems) that they're going to tie them up together by crossing them over. At some point all these films are going to overlap. It's not going to be by a little cameo or easter egg, no it looks like they're legitimately going to talk about certain events and characters directly, not just allude to them. Just like how Man of Steel is already, possibly, connected to the destruction of Wayne Tower, making the people believe that despite trying to save the world Superman can ultimately destroy it. It's unnatural for a being to have so much power without there being some kind of consequence and this storyline addresses it. Then you have the connection to the Suicide Squad, possibly with Jason Todd's death since you can see Batman there and the Robin suit in this trailer with Joker's writing on it, and how it will tie into the Justice League and the stand alone Batman film. Like if that's what they're doing... then I have absolutely so much faith in the DC franchise because that's is going to be amazing. And seeing this trailer and how it's all coming together, they made a brilliant decision using Batman vs Superman as a way to introduce the new franchise.I'm so excited!!!!! Edited in: Oh, I also don't think Lex Luthor will be the main villain in this film. He'll definitely be the antagonistic-type as you can see by the way he's manipulating Superman and provoking him to go against Batman. But he's definitely not going to be the main villain. There's definitely more to it than that and I don't think they're going to show us who it is right away. We still have another year to go so they might keep it hidden until it's closer to the release date. Lex Luthor's purpose here seems to be to get under Superman's skin as a catalyst to something bigger, the fight between Batman and Superman. He's neither supposed to be physically intimidating or scary. With him it's all mind games. You need to have a little more faith in Jesse Eisenberg and the Lex Luthor he's going to deliver.

This Lex is smart enough to point out that it's not just Superman's presence that's a problem... it's the sudden surge (or maybe even a resurgence) of the Superheroes that can potentially pose a threat to humanity. This movie is going to make a lot more people become Superman fans I feel. I have loved him since the days of Reeve but this new Superman is dealing with a struggle that makes him feel real. People will relate to this and find him much more likeable. I also feel this movie has just instantly made Man of Steel an even better movie now that it is connected.

I love how in the beginning of the trailer we see Superman fly to the court and outside the people are holding up signs reminiscent of the Westboro Baptist Church signs. Same color and similar in words. "Aliens doom Nations" and "God hates Aliens." Very interesting because when I think about it, this would be something they (or at least an alien equivalent hate group) would do.

Ryan Gal Gadot said in an interview earlier how when she auditioned she had to read a scene from pulp fiction, and she also had to go up against Ben Affleck in the audition room so he and Zack both liked her.

Jesse Eisenberg is playing a more "James Bond Villain" kind of Lex Luthor. Less hands-on and less likely to try and beat Superman in a fistfight. Leave the fistfight to Batman. This Lex is based on the comics (alternate universe of course), where he is younger, is *SUPER* manipulative, and is downright creepy. And yes, Lex Luthor did have hair in the comics until he got cancer (Kryptonite radiation-poisoning) from when he tried to use Kryptonite to kill Superman and he had to shave off his hair for his cancer treatments.

I think I know where theyre going with this Lex. This isn't the Lex Luthor that throws someone through a window when he doesn't get his way..This is the Lex that if someone insulted him (or if he was bored and they were just around), they would be found hanging from a rope the next day after he calmly explained to them in extreme detail why their life just isn't worth living. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

There's a theory going around saying that zods body is taken by lex and experimented on. During one of the experiments lex activates a hidden gene in zods DNA. The gene mutates the host and creates a monster. The theory is that zod will mutate into a Doomsday like creature. This theory began with the blu ray special features showing a translated piece of kryptonian which reads (beware bertron's curse, for he is named Doomsday)

What will be interesting is seeing batman in a different element. He's darker, death has surrounded the bat and now a "God" is on earth and has unlimited power. Excited to see this!

How can you not think Jesse is going to do good? He killed it in the trailer and is gonna kill it in the movie! One of the things I love and hate about Lex is his constant ego and attitude that he is better than everyone else and how he constantly thinks superman is the threat when he puts the world in danger. Jesse showed us all of that in the trailer, his attitude and mocking line "the red capes are coming" was all Lex!

I actually loved Eisenberg's lines in the trailer and I can actually buy him as a villain, if the part is written for his type of person. I'm getting a younger, rich boy vibe form him which, from someone who isnt a DC fan YET, I can really dig. At the same time, I wanna see at least a couple moments where he really gets mad or something, just to push the evil nature. What I saw in the trailer was enough for me to, now, be completely okay with the main cast. I can sit down and watch this movie with no worries as of this moment. Future trailers may change my thoughts, but right now, I'm sold.

Jessie Eisenberg we will see how he is as Lex Luther. Personally when they cast Heath Ledger as the Joker, I was really worried since I did not think he would do the Joker justice as that character. Personally I think that ,Heath as the joker, was one of the best 'bad guys' ever shown in the silver screen and just nailed that character. Time will tell though when the movie comes out next year :-)

The reason that the cinematography looks so great is because it is the same one from Watchmen.

Something just crossed my mind. Since both Superman and Batman are basically both orphans, im wondering if that will tie into how they actually learn to trust each other and become friends. i would like it if you watched the 4 trailers to R.W.B.Y that came out a few years ago. you would likely really enjoy them a lot. the trailers are Red, White, Black and Yellow.

This film will change how I think about DC movies. I'm still on the fence. This trailer got me excited, but I'm still skeptical about. Warner Bros. have made some polarizing casting choices (Flash, Wonder Woman) but there are casting choices I have warmed up to (Batman). Great trailer, but I just wish we saw a bit more Luthor since I'm still not sold for Eisenberg and some dialogue from Gadot. She looks good in motion, just haven't heard anything to put my concerns to rest regarding her acting.

I have seen the leaked image of the Richard John Grayson grave stone and it would at first appear that he would have been the robin that the joker killed. However, I think that it is more likely that the robin that was killed was the robin that was Bruce's son that he had with Talia Al Ghul or perhaps even cat woman. My thinking behind this is that the newspaper that had the jokers note written on it that said "You let your family die" is most likely referring to a past member of Bruce Wayne's family. Great insight BTW on the Batman v Superman trailer.
