This could happen to you
You have no sound with the HDMI output of Batocera.
For example with your Raspberry Pi 4.
Here is a short video to quickly solve this problem.

Ive never had a problem but i just set up a usb drive we ith batocera 35 and i dont even have the hdmi as an option just auto and the headphone jack also when i try and update it says metwork conection required no matter if i have wifi on or eithernenet hooked up. How do i fix this? This is the first time i have had eother these issues.

Do you know what to do if the HDMI option disappeared from the audio profile list for some reason? I'm getting video through HDMI, but sound isn't working anymore.

My issue is that as well as if I turn it off sometimes I get a blank screen after the splash. The tv says no input found. If I change computers same thing. Then I have to reflash. One of my computers has a dual HDMI.

Thanks for the help! I updated Batocera from V33 to V37 and I lost audio. After I changed the audio output settings to HDMI I got audio back, thanks!

I personally use a USB Capture Video. A cheap one found on Amazon... Hoping to get a sponsored @Elgato Capture game card ... (Bottle In The Sea Throwed! 😋 )

When I start Batocera v37 on a Raspberry Pi 3, the sound works fine for the first game I launch. If I quit the game, the next one I launch has no sound, and that goes on until I restart the system. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

In audio output i only have one option. headphones, no hdmi out. On the other hand on audio profile i have hdmi. What i am doing wrong?

I have a pc with a geforce gtx1650 and have no sound issues with the lower end systems and also not with higher end systems like ps2 and ps3. But i did find the sound on ps1, saturn and dreamcast was not good. it was like the sound goes on and off like 5 times a second. Like a blur in the sound. Is it someting i can fix? Is it a common problem. I don't have that problem on my odroid64 device.

I have found the problem. The resolution was 4K and had to lower to 1080p and for some systems lower and the sound issue was gone.

Hello In settings, you can find output video display. By default you should see you internal monitor. And you will choose hdmi display out

Your issue is Strange... Maybe editing Config File ? I will check for it.

This is what I found but hopefully you have a dedicated system for batocera because there's a catch. When finished playing, 1.) select a non hdmi audio output. 2.) Shutdown system through batocera. 3.) Unplug power supply from back of system. The next time you want to play, 4.) plug power supply back into system and turn on. 5.) Change audio output back to hdmi. Tada! The catch is that enough time should pass between unplugging and plugging in the power supply that all internal charge has dissipated. And yes, you'll need to switch to a non hdmi audio output EVERY time you shutdown and unplug the system for this to work. Hope this helps.

Does batocera use at least a video output ? Which one is used ? If you have reached Batocera Interface, You have to go to settings and find Video Output in System Settings.

if only it were that simple, My Nvidia on my PC has so many more HDMI outputs showing up in Batocera I had it working like 6 months ago, I left my machine sitting in the corner till I had more time to play with it and.. here I am again with no sound. POOP

My advice, try to reinstall Batocera with one of their new release..... Keep going... do not give up

Batocera is a pile of garbage get rid of it and install something else , literally every single basic function of this POS of an OS works intermittently for no reason at all but 99% of the time you boot it there is a problem with something usually multiple things , Wifi , bluetooth, and audio mainly never work right they all might work fine then you reboot and one ,two or all three stop working then 20 boots later they work again for no reason or two work and one doesn't Batocera is the most unstable unpredictable piece of shit of an OS I have ever had the extreme displeasure of using you can search for solutions for all of these issues and get 200 different answers and try them all and none will fix the problem then after a bunch of reboots shit will just work again randomly on its own for seemingly no reason ,then you reboot again and it all stops working again , Batocera is an absolute fucking joke of OS

That's not the problem ,the problem is Batocera itself it's a poorly coded unstable pile of shit of an OS that is not even close to being in an alpha state. Doing this one time before I ever even saw this video did work for me , that ONE TIME but now nothing works it will not work again no mater what I do , it will probably decide to work again randomly after like 100 reboots because that is just how Batocera is , it's an unstable unpredictable unuseable pile of shit on some boots wifi might work but 90% of the time it doesn't , same goes for audio, same goes for bluetooth it's all a fucking crap shoot only you have much better odds with craps , Batocera is not craps, it just SHITS

@BarbaPuffo sto a lot of thigs donlt have th ebudget of windows but basic shit still works like bluetooth and sound and wifi however this problem might just be confined to rpi 4 builds , I can;t say because I only used it on rpi4 and on rpi 4 it is not stable at all
