Battambang Cambodia Walking Tour + First Impressions
I booked my bus to Battambang through my Hostel Noni Tree. Because its low season there were not enough of us for a bus so we traveled in an 8 seater car. It was ok a little tight for 3 adults in the back. The trip took 3 hours with a comfort stop on the way. When we arrived we were surrounded by tuk tuk taxis wanting to take us to hotels. My Hostel Pomme was only a few roads away and as I only have a small back pank and the fact I had been sat in the car for 3 hours I decided to walk. It really was not far. A couple days later I thought I would show you the walk and a few of the shops in the town. Battambang, reminded me so much of Nong Khiaw Laos • Breathtaking Views of ... but a bit bigger. I also wanted to show you around some everyday things rather than an organized tour. I hope you enjoy looking around Battambang with me. Coming up in the next video is a private tour around the area.

Bat-tambong where the bats are hanging out from the caves, bamboo train, and killing caves over the hills at Phnom Sampuv. This city is still a sleepy town comparing to Siem Reap. They are doing the road reconstructions like Siem Reap a few years ago. Have fun and enjoy your trip. Peace from a genocide survivor there✌️

I have a suction hook in my bag of little travel bits and bobs in case there aren’t enough or there is no hook in the bathroom. This does fall off sometimes though! My best item is an elastic twisty clothes line which you can always attach to something and hang stuff off.

I hundred percent agree with you regarding the twisty elastic washing line. it’s my most used item. I have two of them but I might look into a suction hook. Thanks for sharing. 😁

Great. Any tips on dealing with the weather? I’m coming from the U.K. next week. Anything that I should bring but won’t occur to me to bring. ? Eg. Toothpaste. Have a nice day
@nanwithabackpack
@nanwithabackpack Месяц назад
Oh wow I bet you’re counting down the days. If you are staying in hostels I have an elastic washing line and I use it every day to hang washing. They have most things. I use Corsodyl toothpaste and I could not find it but they do have most of the big brands. I bought a sun protection jacket while I was in Thailand. But you can get them anywhere over here. They are great to cover up from the sun. You can also get bug spray when you arrive. Just bring a smile and have a fantastic time. 🥰

I came here from Austin Tukwa's interview. Looking forward to your next videos and I'm now going to look back on your Cambodia videos as I'm there for the first time for 9 days in December. Can't wait! (Ridiculous expression, of course I can, and I will)

Welcome aboard! 🥰 Fantastic you will have an amazing time if you see me around do stop me and say hi. 😃 I also can't wait to get back to Cambodia 😜 I had to temporarily leave as my visa was up. It will be great to get back and have a base for a while. There is plenty more Cambodian videos coming up before a quick flit to Malaysia. My videos are in published quite a while behind me for my safety, as I don't want people knowing where I am!!!!!! 🤔🤭🤫🥴

@@nanwithabackpack Thank you! That delay explains the time difference with your interview. Good news that there are more videos to come. I'm a little older than you, so it's nice to have your perspective, although I do watch the young travellers as well. I was brought up in Stanford Le Hope, (My Mum worked in Billericay!) so you are easy to understand as well 😂

Shut up I have lived in both Stanford Le Hope for around 4 years and Billericay for 12 years!!! We will definitely have to catch up lol. What a small world. Do go back and watch my selling up video I do a tour of my flat in Billericay and my hairdressing salon. Here is the links to it. My first videos were quite different from now I have definitely gotten better thankfully 😅 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rWhl_f4HOBs.htmlsi=HZv2mk789C_TByrx

Hello from Montreal! I just watched your interview with Austin, it was relaxed and fun so I subscribed to your channel! I'm moving to SR in October, if you're around this winter I would love to meet you for a drink and a chat if you want. I'm also a solo female traveler who turned 56 this year 🙂.

I have an idea? Can you briefly mention if there is tipping at these coffee shops or restaurants? The tipping culture is rampant here in the States . It's so bad that it is ingrained in my mind to the point of craziness. Thanks!
@solotraveller888
@solotraveller888 Месяц назад
You can tip at your own discretions. They don’t demand you give one . Tipping culture in the US is crazy,as I used to go to LA for work.
@nanwithabackpack
@nanwithabackpack Месяц назад
I would say if you receive good service from a restaurant or a tour guide or tuktuk driver then yes leave a tip. From what I can see the they don’t expect a tip but are extremely grateful to receive as every little bit helps. There are lots of adults and children begging and it’s so hard to say no but you can’t help everyone. I have been told to try not to give money to the children as it encourages them to skip school to beg, and it’s something that’s being discouraged. I hope this helps. Oh if you drink beer from a can the ring pulls have prizes from money to free beer. Some places have pots you can drop them in for a tip.
